I had to let go of the name sake of my business, Skye, on Friday. She was the inspiration to pursuing a passion for body and energy work. She inspired me to start Skye's the Limit right down to the horse on the logo. Her blaze... her love. It's her through and through.
I first started out learning equine massage. Skye loved being my practice horse. Through her, I realized that not every horse responds to therapies the same. She was an OTTB and was pin fired while racing. That opened my eyes to the industry and possible dysfunctions that happen to Thoroughbreds.
I started learning Reiki so I can help horses heal. I also used PEMF (BEMER) on Skye daily. I realized there is healing arts that I can employ on horses that can assist their body in the process of healing. Using the PEMF helped Skye repair all these years. She had acupuncture with Tens with great success (administered by a vet of course). It got me studying into acupressure and how energy flow can be clogged and restricted causing behavioral or physical dysfunction. I had great successes with acupressure on other horses.
My spiritual mentor and I discussed where to take my Reiki training to the next level. I was already a Usui Master Teacher and knew I'd need higher vibrational Reiki for the mission I have with healing. I got Lightarian trained last year. Grateful for that ability to heal at a more expansive level. I also knew that horses carry experiences from their past that affect their present which can be misdiagnosed as a medical issue. This is where my Animal communication strengthened.
I started learning equine osteopathy to further help horses heal. It's been such an epic experience. I have always felt that my tool box for healing needed variety. I love learning. I strive to research and understand the ailments of horses. Although I am not a vet, I can at least see the signs and recommend contact of one immediately saving precious time.
Skye was an invaluable teacher to me. She loved me fiercely. Everyone always said there's two types of mares: one that will want to kill you and one that will love you. Grateful I got the loving one. My heart hurts, but I will carry on with her name in my business and continue to make horses feel better (mentally, energetically, and physically).
She lived until she was 34 years old. Cushings with muscle atrophy is a horrible disease. Rest easy Skye. Love you forever.
