Iā€™m not a theologian ā€” just someone trying to grow.

And as Lent begins, it feels like a good time to ask a harder question:

Have we confused enmeshment with love?

For many of us, carrying everything for everyone was framed as goodness.
Fixing. Absorbing. Managing.
Calling it faithfulness.

But sometimes itā€™s fear.
Sometimes itā€™s control.
Sometimes itā€™s not trusting God with what isnā€™t ours to carry.

Maybe this Lent isnā€™t only about fasting from food.
Maybe itā€™s fasting from over-responsibility.
From guilt-driven yeses.
From losing ourselves to keep the peace.

Interdependence ā€” not enmeshment ā€” might be closer to what healthy, Christlike love actually looks like.

Something to sit with this season.

Enduring mistreatment is not holiness.It may be enabling.Love does not require self-erasure.And boundaries are not a bet...
