Samanthia Harrison was born to the late Joe and Pearl Hutchens of Fackler, AL. She entered eternal rest on June 8, 2026 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Harrison; son, Charles Sharrief; granddaughter, Quanetta Buchannon; grandson, Baby Zane Kessenich Sharrief; three sisters; three brothers. Samanthia accepted Christ at an early age where she attended Mathews Chapel A.M.E. Church in Fackler until her health started failing. She is survived by her children, Velma Moore, Jerry (Cindy) Harrison, and Millie Sharrief. She has 51 ½ grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; special friend Joyce Vaughn. Visitation will be Thursday from 12-2 and the funeral will be 2 PM Thursday June 11, 2026 from the Valley Funeral Home Chapel in Stevenson. Burial will be in the Price Cemetery.

Charles Edward Cobb was born in Stevenson AL on January 8, 1944 to Lewis Charles Cobb and Mary Marie Harris Cobb. Charles departed this life on June 2, 2026 surrounded by family and friends. Charles began his journey of serving the Lord at three local churches. Center Star Missionary Baptist Church, White Rock Primitive Baptist Church, and Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church where he was assistant to the Pastor. Charles attended George Washington Carver High School. He played basketball and was later inducted in to the Jackson County Hall of Fame. He was employed and retired from TVA Widows Creek for 40 years. He also had a few side jobs during his life, mowing grass and cleaning local banks. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Charles Cobb and Mary Marie Harris Cobb; wife, Martha Cobb; brothers, Raymond Lee Cobb and Oscar Frank Cobb; uncle, Oscar Lee Harris. Charles is survived by his children, Anita (Greg) Paris, Vincent (Kisha) Cobb, and Derrick Cobb; sisters, Linda (Elijah) and Betty (Joe); sisters in law, Leona Cobb and Linda Cobb; aunts, Bernice Harris and Hazel Harris Clark; grandchildren, Brennon, Brittany, Blake (Crystal), and Briana (Marcus); great grandchildren, Braxton, Eyan, Carson, Malaki, and Baby Bria; A very special family to our dad and family, Ms. Timmie, Sharma, Randy, Cordero, Ashia, and Jimmy Cole. He is survived by his son, Ricky (Jessica) Talkington; grandchildren, Brody and Kaliann Talkington; sisters, Christine (Von) Dulaney and Mary Ruth Yon; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his daughter, Angel Talkington; parents, John and Ruthie Talkington; brothers, William, Jay, and Billy Ray Talkington. James Winifred “Wimp” McAllister age 84 of Stevenson passed away at his home with family by his side. James was the son of the late James Richard and Mildred Viola Cargile McAllister, born August 4, 1941 in Stevenson, AL. He was known for his work as a farrier having started working with harness racing horses at an early age in Ohio and then working on the Russell Stables farm in Stevenson. He had worked at Avondale Mills in Stevenson, Revere Copper and Brass, Morton Thiokol on the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, and Shaw Industry in South Pittsburg be fore retiring to his farm where he enjoyed gardening, raising hay and raising mules and horses. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Shirley Ann McAllister, Mary Chatherine “Kat” Evans, Jackye McAllister Headrick, Aneta McAllister Burton; brothers, Robert E. McAllister, Charles David “Red” McAllister, and Larry Wayne “Buck” McAllister. He is survived by his wife, Lyda Annette McAllister; daughters, Myra Veronica (Lisa Reed) McAllister and Linda Marie; granddaughter, Abby; siblings, Kenneth Richard McAllister of Chattanooga, TN and Joe (Amy) McAllister of Scottsboro; sisters in law, Brenda Kirk McAllister and Joyce Ake McAllister; brother in law, Bill Burton; many nieces and nephews. Gertrude Hawes Menzing 87 of Flatrock passed away at home surrounded by family. She loved her family and friends wholeheartedly and loved the lord unconditionally, she was also a member of the Jimmy Swagart Church. She loved her two little dogs Molly and Sassy as much as she loved her children. She was preceded in death by her husband William H Menzing, her parents Avie Gibson, Elbert Hawes, brother James E Hawes, daughter in law Anna Menzing and sister-in-law Wilma Hawes.She was survived by her sons, Joseph Menzing, and Robert Menzing; grandchildren, Christina Ladd, Libby Menzing, Jesse (Lisa) Richardson, and Blake (Kourtney) Menzing; greatgrandchildren, Joshua Richardson, Alexander Ladd, Kayden Ladd, Hunter Ladd, and Karter Menzing; brothers, Billy Hawes, Marvin (Paulette) Hawes and sister in law Wanda Hawes and several nieces and nephews.
