I often get asked; When should I go to PT? What does a session consist of? What does PT look like? Let me help you to understand common myths and truths about physical therapy.
Myth #1: People only go to PT if you are injured. Not true. We treat a lot of patients that have chronic or acute pain, help with balance and fall prevention, address ergonomic issues, and can assist with overall prevention and wellness.
Myth #2: PT is painful. Not true! I pride myself on finding the best treatment plan that is unique to YOU. If we are working on stretching or strengthening interventions, I will consistently ask your feedback and give you options that work best for your body. Every person is different which means every treatment plan is designed with YOU in mind.
Myth #3: PT is too expensive and time consuming. In reality, PT is a fraction of the cost of surgeries or injections.
Typical sessions are 45 minutes in duration that focus on manual therapy techniques, stretching, and strengthening usually 1-2 times per week. Whether it be cash or insurance reimbursement, PT is an affordable option to help achieve your goals.
