Oklahoma Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory We provide vigilant, accessible, and accountable diagnostic service for Oklahoma veterinarians and animal owners.

The Oklahoma Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory was established in 1976 through the efforts of concerned and dedicated Oklahomans. Foremost among its early advocates was a Board of Advisors that continues to provide advice, counsel, and support for the laboratory's operations. Others who were instrumental in the establishment of the laboratory include farmers, ranchers, pet owners, veterinarians

, wise and understanding legislators, and far-sighted governors. The laboratory's mission is to provide vigilant, accessible, and accountable diagnostic service for Oklahoma veterinarians and animal owners. Its goals are to help reduce Oklahoma's expensive losses to animal diseases and parasites, to reduce the incidence and threat of diseases that are transmissible from animals to man, and to provide support for the teaching and research programs of the Center for Veterinary Health Sciences. The key to our success is held in the hands of the laboratory staff - a staff that is dedicated, hard-working, productive, and ready to go the extra mile that is often required to find helpful answers for hard problems. We welcome the opportunity to serve Oklahoma and Oklahomans.

New World screwworm has been confirmed in Texas, making awareness and early detection more important than ever for livestock owners, veterinarians and animal health professionals.

The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry is monitoring the situation and has information available for Oklahoma producers.

Now is the time to vaccinate your animals!

Vaccines can help protect horses against West Nile Virus and other diseases such as Sleeping Sickness, Tetanus and Rabies.

Now is also the perfect time to vaccinate ALL livestock & companion animals against rabies. It’s very important to make sure animals that humans are around often are protected against rabies, as protected livestock and companion animals serve as a barrier between humans and wild animals that carry rabies.

Due to inclement weather conditions, the OSU–Stillwater campus and OADDL will open at 10:00 a.m.
OADDL will follow its Inclement Weather Policy. Emergency services will be available from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.; however, if your needs are not urgent, we encourage you to wait until 10:00 a.m. to submit Necropsy and Rabies specimens.
Non-necropsy specimens may be deposited in our drop box, mini-refrigerator or incubator in the Receiving vestibule 24/7.
Properly boxed Rabies may be dropped off at any time. Please follow instructions on signage at our Receiving entrance.
For Necropsy services, please call 405-744-6623 between 8am and 10am to schedule with the on-call employee.
Shipping delays may occur and test results could take longer than published turnaround times.

Non-necropsy specimens may be deposited in our drop box, mini-refrigerator or incubator in the Receiving vestibule 24/7.
Properly boxed Rabies may be dropped off at any time. Please follow instructions on signage at our Receiving entrance.
For Necropsy services, please call 405-744-6623 between 8am and 5pm to confirm staff availability and scheduling. Weather may prohibit intake of animals.
Shipping delays may occur and test results could take longer than published turnaround times.
