A year ago, we opened the doors of The Recovery Village South Atlanta in Stockbridge with one goal in mind: to make sure that anyone in our community struggling with addiction or mental health challenges could find real, lasting help close to home.

Mental Health America founded Mental Health Awareness Month in 1949 and has led the effort every May to promote mental wellness nationwide. We join them this month and every month to help promote mental health awareness, reduce stigma and help others live happier, healthier lives.

This year’s theme — More Good Days, Together — encourages us all to reflect on what a “good” day looks like, both for ourselves, and for our communities. Together, we can use that insight to connect people to the right support at the right time, and shape advocacy, education, and community engagement to make better mental health possible for all.
