SATURDAY is Stonington Pride's "Pokemon Go Community Day Meet Up" at The Velvet Mill ! It's gonna be a heck of a fun day hanging out together, so please join us!

All are welcome
We will be meeting The Forge (small exterior building in the West Parking Lot by the Main Entrance, off of Bayview Road), and exploring around and within the Mill throughout the Community Day event.

Everyone is responsible for themselves.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Please bring a bottle of water or other beverage. Hydration is rad!
The Mill is wheelchair accessible, and we will be taking many rest breaks.

Today we had our monthly meeting of the Wheelchair Repair Advisory Council!
We meet remotely the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 11-1230.

We are continuing to work together as advocates, legislators, legal experts, consumers, and industry experts to ensure the new law (PA 24-58) is being applied fairly, effectively, and accessibly, as well as any updates we would like to see during this legislative session.

We have been under the purview of Health and Human Services since the Council's inception, but we are now being moved over to the Office of the Healthcare Advocate. This is for a few reasons, but almost all administrative.

We have also been discussing a "wheelchair user's bill of rights." I've heard from lots of folks outside the council that they would like to see more diverse voices weighing in on this other than the 1 manual chair user (cis/white/male/spinal cord injury) and 1 non-wheelchair user (cis/white/female/non-disabled) who are currently spearheading this project. Specifically, more diverse WHEELCHAIR USERS voices. So, if you're a wheelchair user in Connecticut and would like to be a part of a focus group, please reach out!

I was so proud on Monday to join the for their New London rally!

Josh Elliott love and passion for the people of Connecticut is contagious! We deserve someone who wants to represent us because he is passionate about making things better for us, because he cares deeply about each and every person and their wellbeing!

Bonus: my fav State Representative Nick Gauthier spoke with all the passion he always shows up with about why he has always believed in Josh, and the vision he, Josh, and Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani all have in common, and how we can make it a reality here in CT, and the USA.

Let's go Josh, and all of us!!!!

I'm stoked that Stonington Pride is going to get to be at All Families All Pride at Union Baptist Church - Mystic - CT on June 27th is ALSO gonna be INCREDIBLE! 🥳🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

All Families All Pride is SUCH a fun, inclusive, accessible event, and there are gonna be SO MANY amazing vendors and performers there. Mark your calendars, because you will absolutely kick yourself if you miss it! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

I am super excited to be traveling to NYC this week to speak to a multi-national corporation about the history and contemporary importance of Pride!

Speaking at corporate workplaces, organizations, universities, government spaces are some of my favourite opportunities! It's always such a cool chance to share from a perspective that folks may not always get to see.

In July, Disability Pride Month, I am honoured to be sharing at Indivisible Southeast CT 's monthly meeting about intersectionality, third spaces and places, and creating community (and so much more!).
