Podiatrists are physicians licensed to treat all ailments of the foot and foot structures, including ankle ligaments. They perform surgery, prescribe medications, and order diagnostic tests, blood tests, and consultations from other specialists when needed. Dr. Smith has been practicing Podiatry in Stony Brook since 1989. Our practice specializes in pediatric and adolescent foot problems, as well as athletic injuries. Additionally, palliative/routine podiatry is also provided here.
