One of the best ways to encourage language development is by modeling correct language instead of asking your child to repeat themselves.

For example: Child: "Doggy run!" Adult: "Yes! The doggy is running fast!"

By expanding on what your child says, you provide a natural model of longer, more complete sentences without interrupting the conversation. Small moments like these help children learn new vocabulary and grammar while keeping communication positive and enjoyable.

Late language emergence is a delay in language onset with no other diagnosed disabilities or developmental delays in other cognitive or motor domains.
