Patricia Harskamp, age 88, of Storm Lake, Iowa died October 17, 2026 at Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake.

Memorial services will take place Thursday, October 22, 2026 at 1:00 p.m.at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Private burial will be in Storm Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home in STORM LAKE. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Patricia was born August 3, 1938 to Palmer and Leone (Rollings) Paulson in Pierre, South Dakota. She was the youngest of six children and grew up attending school in Hudson, South Dakota.

On June 8, 1956, Patricia was united in marriage to Donald Lee Harskamp in Luverne, Minnesota. They were blessed with five children: Jackie, Diane, Don, Doug, and Julie.

Patricia worked for the turkey plant in Storm Lake for over thirty years. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and quilting. Baking also brought Patricia joy. In her later years, Patricia enjoyed watching TV, especially Gunsmoke, Judge Judy, and Let’s Make A Deal. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Roberta Nixon Waddell, 70, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa passed away on October 13, 2026, at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s in Sioux City.

A Celebration of Life will take place Friday, October 23, 2026 from 5-7:00 p.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in STORM LAKE. Burial will be held at a later date. The family invites everyone to wear purple, Bobbie’s favorite color, or Minnesota Vikings apparel to honor her memory. Roberta “Bobbie” Jean Nixon was born on November 8, 1955, to Robert and Ferne Nixon at Sioux Rapids. She grew up and attended school in Sioux Rapids.

Bobbie married Bryan Olson on July 2, 1983, at the Sioux Rapids Baptist Church. They later divorced.

Throughout her life, Bobbie worked on various chicken farms and hatcheries in the Sioux Rapids and Spencer areas. Bobbie was a member of the Sioux Rapids Baptist Church.

Bobbie married Carl Waddell on December 2, 2006, at the Sioux Rapids Baptist Church. They later separated.

Bobbie enjoyed fishing and boating, watching shows on HGTV, reading her Bible and attending church. She loved her Diet Mountain Dew and cheering for the Minnesota Vikings. Most of all, Bobbie cherished spending time with her family and friends.

Dianne S. White, age 83, of Alta, Iowa died October 14, 2026 at Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake.

Memorial Mass will take place Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Storm Lake. Burial will be St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the CHURCH. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Mary's Catholic School in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Dianne was born in Dyersville on December 12, 1942, the daughter of Leander and Irene (Kruse) Bruggemann. She was baptized and confirmed at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Petersburg, Iowa where she also attended grade school. Dianne graduated from Xavier High School in Dyersville, Iowa.

On June 6, 1964, Dianne was united in marriage to Albert E. White of Worthington, Iowa at the SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Petersburg. They were blessed with four children: Douglas, Timothy, Jamie, and Jason.

Dianne was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Storm Lake where she served on the Guild. She was also a member of PEO - Chapter NM and the ‘37 Club. Dianne’s happy place was Mesa, Arizona where she played tennis and pickleball up to two years ago. She loved the game of Bridge and Mah Jongg. Shirley was born on December 24, 1934 to Everett and Claudia Leone (Delashmett) Reed in Whiting, Iowa. She grew up attending school in Whiting, Iowa where she was active in athletics and cheerleading. She asked Jesus into her heart and was baptized when she was 13 years old. She graduated from Whiting High School in 1953 and then moved to Sioux City with two of her sisters and worked in a bank.

On April 9, 1955, Shirley was united in marriage to Leland Jensen of Soldier, Iowa. They were blessed with four children: Laurie, Judy, Diane, and Barry. After her four children were off to school Shirley attended and graduated from the Storm Lake School of Beauty. Shirley also worked part-time at several stores in Storm Lake while raising her busy family and loved delivering Meals on Wheels. She and Lee also owned and operated “Van’s Book and Bible Store” in Storm Lake. In 1981, they bought the legendary Ken-A-Bob Buffet, working side by side until Lee’s untimely death in January of 1998....

Michael Kurt Liesch, 63, of Waterloo died Saturday October 10, 2026 at The Village of Ackley in Ackley, Iowa due to dementia caused by Alzheimer’s.

Those who knew Kurt are invited to a life remembrance to be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 from 3-4:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in ALTA. Burial will follow at 4:30 p.m. in BV Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Alta is in charge of the arrangements.

Kurt was born on April 23, 1963 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Mike and Delores (Sue) Liesch. Kurt grew up in Iowa City where his parents worked at the University of Iowa Hospitals. After holding a number of jobs, he eventually obtained a license to drive an 18-wheeler. This started his truck driving career and Kurt spent many years as a long-haul truck driver crisscrossing the country. He said that he enjoyed driving in the western parts of the United States the most.

Later in life the constant miles took a toll on his back, and so he eventually transitioned into driving a tow truck in the Waterloo area. He worked for several companies, most recently at Scheetz Towing in Evandale. Even after his retirement in 2025, he spent most of his free time with all of his friends at Sheetz. In his later years he bought and rode a Harley Davidson motorcycle, something he had always dreamed of doing.

Roger Waggie, age 95, of Rochester, Minnesota, formerly of Newell, Iowa died October 10, 2026 in Rochester.

Graveside services will take place Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. in St. John's Cemetery in rural Albert City. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Roger Dewayne Waggie, the eldest son of Roy and Dora (Beckfield) Waggie was born October 21, 1930 in Newell, Iowa and was raised on the family farm. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, rural Albert City, which he attended for the majority of his life. After graduation from Newell High School in 1948 he briefly attended Wartburg College before enlisting in the Army, where he served in Korea in the Army Signal Corps. After an honorary discharge he enrolled at Iowa State University. While in college he married Majorie Wilson in December, 1954 and the following year their daughter Kimberly was born.

After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Education in 1957 he accepted a position with the Extension Service as the Pocahontas County Youth Assistant. When presented the opportunity to farm, he returned to Newell in 1962. He was active in his church and community and served on the Newell-Providence School and Newell Cooperative Elevator boards. His wife Marjorie died in 1983. The following year he married Barbara (Degner) Beilby. After retiring in 1996 Roger and Barbara moved to Storm Lake where they lived...

Alice was born on July 26, 1934, in rural Cherokee, Iowa, to Louis and Elizabeth (Glassmaker) Bauer. She grew up on a farm attending elementary school at Visitation Grade School at Maryhill and graduated from Cleghorn High School.

On January 4, 1956, Alice was united in marriage with Donald Speers at the Maryhill Visitation Church west of Cherokee. They shared a devoted marriage of 70 years building a life together filled with love, cherished memories, and their four children: Ron (Nancy) Speers, Alta, IA, Deanna (Bruce) McGowan, Alta, IA, Tim (Sue) Speers, Storm Lake, IA, and Lisa (Tony) Weber, Rock Port, MO.

For many years, Alice served as an administrative assistant at St. Mary’s Parish Office. She was also a member of the St. Mary’s Guild. Alice enjoyed attending to her garden, putting together puzzles, and spending her Saturday mornings baking desserts for her family. She spent hours reciting the rosary for the many prayer intentions that her family brought to her.

Deanna “Dee” McDonald passed away suddenly on September 29, 2026, at Deerfield Retirement Community in Urbandale, Iowa.

Dee was born on October 26, 1939, in Cherokee, Iowa, to Andy and Ramona Brechwald.

Known to everyone for her kindness and generosity, Dee spent her life making the world a softer, brighter place. She was a loyal wife to her husband, William “Bill” McDonald. Their bond was built on mutual respect, and a lifetime of travel and exploring the world together.

Dee had a special way of showing her love through the everyday things she did for others. She found great joy in cooking, and the kitchen was one of the many places where her generous heart flourished. Preparing meals was more than just cooking for Dee; it was another way to bring people together, make them feel welcome, and show them how much they meant to her. Whether sharing a favorite dish or gathering loved ones around the table, she understood that some of life’s best moments happen over a home-cooked meal.

Dee had a funny sense of humor and a quick wit that could brighten anyone’s day. She was the family’s go-to weather forecaster, keeping everyone informed and prepared for whatever the weather might bring. She was also an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan who proudly cheered on her favorite team.

On June 9, 1930, Frances Irene Casperson was born to Ralph & Jessie Casperson at the family’s farmhouse in Monona County in southwestern Iowa. She attended a one-room country school. After passing the 8th grade exam, she boarded in the nearby town of Woodbine, Iowa where she attended high school and graduated in a class of 48 students. After graduation, at the age of 18, she taught 21 students in country school to earn money for college.

In the chemistry department of Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, Fran met her future husband, Keith Meyer. They married in 1952, and Keith’s work and career took them to Washington DC; Lexington, Kentucky; Lansing, Michigan; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Houston, Texas.
