Today in Memory Care we had some Bananagrams fun! Our residents put their thinking caps on as they worked with letters to create words, build connections, and challenge their brains. Bananagrams is a great way to encourage cognitive stimulation, word recall, concentration and fine motor skills - all while enjoying some friendly competition and plenty of laughs! The best part? There's no pressure to be perfect. It's about participating, engaging, reminiscing, and enjoying time together.

If we were really in South Africa, our pontoon cruise might have included sightings of hippos, crocodiles and elephants! But since our 2026 world tour is an imaginary one, we decided to make the most of our own backyard and took our South African adventure to Lake Monona in Madison! Our wildlife sightings were a little different than what we might have seen in South Africa. We spotted ducks, enthusiastic, kayakers, fisherman, and even one very relaxed "hammocker"! The best part? The weather was absolutely perfect! It was a beautiful day to get out on the water, enjoy the sunshine, share some laughs, and make wonderful memories together. Who needs a passport when you have a pontoon? South Africa may have been our destination, but Lake Monona gave us quite the adventure!

Our 2026 world tour continues, and this month we’ve landed in the beautiful country of South Africa! Throughout August, our residents will be exploring South Africa’s rich culture, incredible wildlife, vibrant, traditions, and delicious cuisine – all without leaving Milestone! Today, we kicked off our adventure by creating colorful South African button art. It was a wonderful opportunity to get creative while learning about this amazing country and it’s unique heritage. Who says you need a passport to travel the world? At Milestone Senior living, every month brings a new destination, new experiences, and new memories! At milestone, our patriotism doesn’t end when the fireworks fade – we celebrate our love for our country all year long! Our residents recently enjoyed creating a patrioticwreath, filling the room with creativity, conversation, and plenty of red, white, and blue spirit. On July 10, our residents enjoyed a wonderful afternoon filled with delicious food, great company, and beautiful summer weather! A heartfelt thank you to our amazing kitchen staff for preparing a fantastic luau meal, Moments Hospice for providing refreshing, drinks, and Agrace Hospice for treating everyone to delicious ice cream sundaes. To top it all off, Richard Shatton kept the party going with wonderful music that had everyone smiling and enjoying the festive island atmosphere. Mahalo to everyone who helped make our luau such a fun and memorable day.
