Did you know the origins of the modern game of Bingo date back to 1530 Italy? Bingo in America was introduced as a carnival game in the 1920s and later copyrighted in 1933. Once played with dried beans, it was referred to as “Beano”. Rumor has it that in the early 1900s, a woman was so excited to win, she inadvertently called out BINGO and the new name stuck. Today at Kettle Park, residents use poker chips or pennies to mark their cards. With the turnout we see for our weekly games, this tradition will continue to flourish for many more years to come!

When caregivers require a leave or if you are recovering from an illness, injury, or disease, we have a place for you. Garden Club was busy today at Kettle Park! Residents spent the morning planting flowers, arranging patio pots, and tending to our raised garden beds together. We even noticed the basil has already started sprouting!

These moments are about more than gardening. They’re about friendship, purpose, laughter, and enjoying the simple joys of spring together. 💜

May is National Pet Month! Celebrated annually in the United States, it honors the joy pets bring to our lives and promotes responsible ownership. Kettle Park is home to not just an amazing group of residents, but many of their fur babies as well. Throughout the rest of May, we will be highlighting our four legged residents.

We could not let our series of celebrating our four-legged Kettle Park friends end without a huge shout out to Mary Slane and her loyal canine companions, Lucy and Tink. Every Thursday, Lucy and Tink come tails wagging to Legacy Court. While the pups sure soak up all the love and attention, the benefit for residents is notable. Studies show that pet therapy has positive impacts emotionally by reducing stress and anxiety, physically by lowering blood pressure  and encouraging movement, and cognitively by enhancing memory and stimulating focus. THANK YOU, Mary, for making Kettle Park part of Lucy and Tink’s lives. Your commitment to Legacy Court is something we truly treasure. 🐶🐾💕
