The clients who tell me, “I don’t think my trauma was bad enough,” are often the ones carrying the heaviest burden.

Somehow we’ve been taught that trauma has to look dramatic to “count.” That if someone else had it worse, we should just move on.

But that’s not how trauma works.

Trauma isn’t measured by what happened. It’s measured by how your nervous system experienced it.

If you learned to stay small, stay perfect, never ask for help, or always be on guard… your nervous system adapted to survive. Those adaptations may have protected you then, but they can leave you feeling anxious, exhausted, disconnected, or like you’re constantly carrying the weight of the world now.

Therapy isn’t about proving your pain was “bad enough.”

It’s about helping your mind and body realize they don’t have to survive like that anymore.

✨ You don’t have to earn healing.

When I ask, “How are you?” I hope you know I mean the long version.

The messy version.
The rambling version.
The version that starts with, “I don’t even know where to begin…”
The version you usually apologize for.

You don’t have to organize your thoughts before you walk through my door. You don’t have to make your feelings easier for someone else to hold.

Therapy is one of the few places where you don’t have to edit yourself.

So if your answer takes the whole session…
If it circles back three times…
If it comes out in tears, silence, or laughter…

That’s okay.

You don’t have to protect me from your story. I’m here because I want to hear every part of it.

Sometimes healing begins the moment someone makes you feel like your whole story is welcome.

One of the biggest misconceptions about therapy is that you have to know exactly what to say - or worry about saying “too much.”

You don’t.

Bring the screenshots. Show me the picture. Tell me the embarrassing part. Laugh. Cry. Vent. Curse if that’s how you express yourself.

Therapy isn’t about being polished. It’s about being honest.

For me, it’s genuinely an honor to witness people’s stories and walk alongside them through the parts of life they rarely share with anyone else.

If you’ve ever wondered, “Is this too much to tell my therapist?” the answer is almost always: No. Bring it. 🤍

No one tells you that becoming a therapist changes you, too.

Yes, there are hard days. There are full schedules, documentation, and moments when the emotional weight feels heavy.

But there are also moments that make it all worth it.

Watching someone set a boundary for the first time. Seeing a client laugh after months of surviving. Hearing, “I don’t feel stuck anymore.”

Those are the moments that remind me why I chose this profession.

You’ve built a life that looks exactly right.

The career.
The responsibilities.
The reputation for being the one who always has it together.

But somewhere along the way… you stopped feeling like yourself.

You keep pushing.
You keep achieving.
You keep telling yourself, “Just one more thing and then I’ll rest.”

But rest never comes.

Because perfectionism, over-functioning, and staying busy can feel safer than slowing down and noticing what’s underneath.

You don’t want to seem needy.
You don’t want to be “too much.”
You’ve always been the one who figures it out.

And the same traits that helped you become successful may now be the things keeping you stuck.

Maybe you’ve tried therapy before.
You understood the patterns.
You talked through your experiences.
You did the work.

But something still didn’t shift.

That’s because healing isn’t always about understanding the story - sometimes it’s about helping your nervous system finally release what it’s been carrying.

EMDR works differently than traditional talk therapy. It helps us work with the deeper processes driving anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, and the patterns that keep repeating - so you’re not just managing symptoms, you’re creating lasting change.

You’ve spent a long time holding everything together.

You don’t have to keep doing it alone.

It’s time to stop just managing your life… and start feeling present in it.

✨ Book a free consultation and let’s get to the root of what’s been keeping you stuck.

You’ve already done the hard part - recognizing the pattern.

Now it’s time for the shift 🌊

If you’re a high-functioning adult, you’ve probably mastered responsibility. Your calendar is full, your to-do list never ends, and slowing down can feel unproductive- or even uncomfortable.

But self-care isn’t always another routine to perfect.

Sometimes it’s taking the trip.
Watching the sunset.
Saying yes to a weekend away.
Laughing a little longer.
Putting your phone away.
Choosing presence over productivity.

Those moments aren’t distractions from your life- they’re part of it.

Healing isn’t only about working through the hard things. It’s also about creating space to experience joy, curiosity, connection, and rest without feeling like you have to earn them.

Where is life inviting you to say yes?

No one will ever fully understand the internal battles you had to endure just to heal, just to grow, just to make it here today.

The moments you chose to keep going when giving up felt easier.
The hard conversations.
The tears no one saw.
The courage it took to face what hurt instead of running from it.

Your healing journey may be invisible to others, but that doesn’t make it any less real.

Take a moment to acknowledge how far you’ve come. The strength it took to get here deserves recognition- even if no one else can see the full story.

✨ Growth isn’t always loud.
✨ Healing isn’t always visible.
✨ But every step forward matters.

So often, we move through life carrying experiences, beliefs, and patterns that once helped us survive - but may no longer support the person we are becoming.

Therapy offers a space to slow down, explore what shaped you, and create a deeper understanding of yourself.

Because when you understand your story, you can begin to choose what comes next. 🤍
