GLA Ambassadors and Next Gen members joined patients, clinicians, researchers, advocates, community leaders, and elected officials at Congressman Josh Gottheimer's Lyme Disease Roundtable in New Jersey last week—a discussion that also covered related tick-borne illnesses like anaplasmosis, babesiosis, and alpha-gal syndrome.

Participants raised urgent concerns facing patients and families, including the difficulty of receiving an accurate diagnosis, the prevalence of false-negative test results, gaps in physician education, the need for greater public awareness, and the long-term physical, cognitive, and mental health impacts on children whose Lyme disease goes undiagnosed for too long.

Congressman Gottheimer also outlined federal priorities aimed at addressing these challenges, including advancing the Kay Hagan Tick Act, securing continued funding for Lyme and tick-borne disease research and prevention, and moving forward additional legislation focused on tick identification, research funding, and a national vector-borne disease prevention and alert system.

Behind every policy and statistic is a patient fighting for their life back. Real change starts by putting their voices first.

Alpha-gal syndrome

This patient spent 8 years being told it was anxiety, then depression, then fibromyalgia. One doctor told her to stop reading medical journals.

By month three of real treatment, she stopped bringing her binder. By month six, she had cognitive improvement she hadn't felt in years. By month 14, she wrote this note.

It wasn't a perfect protocol. It was a provider who believed her enough to look deeper. 🍃

RFK Jr. just revealed on Fox News that Lyme disease, RSV, and COVID are all likely products of Gain of Function research.

Gain of Function research is responsible for the deaths of millions worldwide with nothing to show for it.

RFK Jr. has announced that the U.S. will no longer allow this dangerous experimentation, and doctors and organizations found conducting it will face severe consequences.

Hopefully, other countries around the world follow suit.
