Therapy doesn’t have to be scary…even this crew showed up!👻

Sometimes the scariest part is simply walking through the door for the first time. Therapy isn’t about being judged, having all the answers, or being told what’s “wrong” with you. It’s about having a safe space to talk, process, heal, and learn more about yourself.

Even the scariest characters could use someone to talk to. 😉

APEX was honored to attend the Paterson PBA Local 1 event and spend an incredible evening alongside those who dedicate themselves to serving and protecting their community.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to connect, show our support, and recognize the commitment and sacrifice of our first responders.

At APEX Recovery & Behavioral Health, we believe supporting those who serve also means making sure they know support is available for them, too. Mental health matters, and no one should have to carry the weight alone.

What actually happens when you call APEX treatment center📞

Making that first call can feel intimidating—especially when you don’t know what to expect.

Here’s what that first conversation may look like:
1. We listen.
You’ll have a conversation about what’s been going on and what you’re looking for help with.

2. We learn about your needs.
We’ll ask some questions about mental health, substance use, current concerns, and the type of support you may need.

3. We talk about your options.
We’ll help you understand what services may be appropriate and answer your questions about treatment.

4. We can discuss insurance and next steps.
We’ll help you understand the practical side of getting started, including coverage and the admissions process.

5. You don’t have to have everything figured out.
You don’t need to know exactly what kind of treatment you need before you call. That’s part of the conversation.

Calling doesn’t mean you’ve committed to treatment. It means you’ve taken the first step toward finding out what help is available.

At APEX Recovery & Behavioral Health, we’re here to make that first conversation feel a little less overwhelming. Questions are welcome. Asking for help is welcome. You are welcome.

⚠️ Kratom products—and especially concentrated 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH) products—are becoming increasingly accessible. But many people may not realize their potential for dependence, withdrawal, tolerance, and other serious health risks!

Today, we honor what would have been Love More For Julius 33rd birthday by celebrating his legacy through Love More for Julius.

Love More for Julius is the incredible 501(c)(3) nonprofit that donated our beautiful music room, giving Apex clients a space to explore creativity, discover new talents, and find healthy ways to express themselves through music.

Their mission is to bring the power of music into recovery programs, treatment centers, and communities through music room donations, drum circles, sober open mics, and so much more.

Apex is incredibly proud to support Love More for Julius and grateful for the opportunity to carry Julius’ legacy forward by helping our clients discover new passions, connections, and healthy outlets in recovery.

At APEX, healing doesn’t always have to happen through words. Our plant therapy activities give clients an opportunity to slow down, get creative, connect with others, and experience the simple reward of nurturing something and watching it grow.

Just like these plants, recovery is about creating strong roots, giving yourself what you need to thrive, and remembering that progress happens one day at a time.

We’re proud to offer therapeutic activities that support connection, mindfulness, creativity, and personal growth as part of the recovery journey!
