When Grief Begins Before the Loss
Grief often begins long before a loss occurs. During illness, caregiving, medical uncertainty, dementia, decline, or major life transitions, many people experience what is known as anticipatory grief, a form of grief that can feel deeply emotional, confusing, and isolating.
You may find yourself grieving changes in health, relationships, identity, routines, or the future you imagined, all while still trying to stay present and functional in everyday life.
Therapy can provide space to process layered emotions, hold uncertainty with greater compassion, and navigate the emotional weight that often accompanies caregiving, chronic illness, aging parents, or significant life changes.
At Sudbury Psychology Services, I provide grief-informed therapy for adults 18+ in Sudbury, MA, throughout the MetroWest area, and virtually across Massachusetts. My practice specializes in grief and loss, caregiver stress, anxiety, health-related concerns, and life transitions through thoughtful, evidence-based care tailored to each individual.
Serving adults across Sudbury, Concord, Lexington, Wayland, Weston, Acton, Waltham, and surrounding Massachusetts communities.
