Fibroid treatment where you sleep in your own bed that night.

"How long will I be out?" is the first question almost every patient asks. Dr. Eric Hardee answers it in under 45 seconds.

A few hours at the center. Home the same day. No incision, no stitches, nothing removed. Cramping for a couple of days, then light activity by day three or four.

Save this for the friend who has been told a hysterectomy is her only option.

If you’ve been diagnosed with fibroids, you may be wondering what your options are and what comes next.

Fibroids can cause heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic pressure, pain, bloating and other symptoms that can easily interfere with your day-to-day life. The right treatment depends on several factors, including the size and location of the fibroids, your symptoms, overall health and personal treatment goals.

Uterine fibroid embolization (UFE) is a minimally invasive treatment that blocks the blood vessels supplying the fibroids, causing them to shrink over time. For women who want to avoid surgery or preserve their uterus, UFE may be an option worth discussing with a physician.

Dr. Patel recently discussed uterine fibroids, who is considered a candidate for UFE and the range of treatment options available in D Magazine’s Doctor’s Orders: Women’s Health series.

Includes: Tips for a hearty-healthy lifestyle, new advances in cancer treatment, the cosmetic surgery procedures Dallas women want most, and minimally invasive pain treatments for women.

Not everyone with fibroids needs treatment. Fibroids are not cancer. If yours aren't causing problems, watching them is a real plan, not a brush-off.

What changes the conversation is symptoms. Dr. Hardee sorts them into three:
1. Heavy bleeding
2. Pelvic pain or pressure
3. Bulk symptoms, like needing the bathroom constantly

If any of those describe your month, UFE may be worth asking about.

"They explained every step."

That's what she remembers most. Not the procedure itself — the fact that someone slowed down and walked her through it until she actually understood what was about to happen.

Feeling safe and informed shouldn't be a bonus. It should be the baseline.

Our vein specialists treat varicose veins, leg swelling, and venous insufficiency with minimally invasive, outpatient procedures — and we take the time to make sure you know what to expect long before you're in the room.

The calendar resets in September. Consider this your permission slip.

If you spent the summer planning around your period, here's a short list worth reading honestly:

→ Bleeding through protection in under two hours
→ Periods lasting longer than a week
→ Needing a "backup outfit"
→ Fatigue that sleep doesn't fix
→ Pelvic pressure, bloating, or a feeling of fullness
→ Frequent urination or constipation
→ Pain during s*x

One or two of these is worth a conversation. Several is worth an appointment.

These are classic uterine fibroid symptoms and there are treatment options that don't involve surgery.

Not every vein problem is one you can see.

Perforator veins are short veins that connect the deep and superficial systems in your legs. When the valves inside them stop working, blood flows the wrong direction — from the deep system out to the superficial one — and pools where it shouldn't.

That's often what's behind stubborn, localized symptoms: aching in one specific spot, skin changes, swelling, and in some cases venous stasis ulcers that won't heal.

Radiofrequency perforator ablation treats it directly. Heat delivered through a catheter closes the faulty vein, and blood reroutes through healthy ones. Outpatient, local anesthesia, minimal downtime.

If you have a leg wound that isn't healing, it's worth having your veins evaluated. https://texaseva.com/vein/treatment/radiofrequency-perforator-ablation/?utm_source=social&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=vein
