If you’re trying to build a breakfast that’s satisfying and supports healthy blood sugars, here are 5 of my favorite foods to include at breakfast time:

🥣 Oatmeal
🥜 Peanut butter
🥑 Avocado
🥄 Cottage cheese
💪 Low-sugar Greek yogurt

These are some of my go-to breakfast staples because they’re easy to mix and match into meals that include protein, fiber, and healthy fats… the combination that can help you stay full longer and support steadier blood sugars.

Remember: you don’t have to eliminate carbs at breakfast. Instead, focus on building a balanced meal that works for you.

US based airlines will allow you an extra carryon bag for medical supplies. To find your airlines policy, head to Google and search “*name of airline* medical equipment policy” and it should bring up the page you need. Your medical bag must fit under the seat in front of you or in the overhead bin and should be only for medical supplies.

Chocolate chips for breakfast? Yes, please. 🍫🙌

These Chocolate Chip Almond Butter Breakfast Bars are one of my favorite make-ahead options for busy mornings.

They’re soft, satisfying, lightly sweet, and made with a combination of oats, almond flour, almond butter, and eggs.

That combination gives you protein, fiber, and fat alongside the carbohydrates…which can help create a more balanced breakfast than many traditional pastries or breakfast bars.

And the best part? They take just 35 minutes to make, can stay on the counter for up to five days, and freeze beautifully for future breakfasts.

I love serving one with fruit and yogurt for a quick, balanced meal that the whole family will actually enjoy.
