Myopia is more than difficulty seeing the board.
When a child develops myopia at a young age, there are more years during which the prescription may continue to increase.
Higher levels of myopia are associated with an increased lifetime risk of eye-health complications, including retinal problems, glaucoma, and other conditions that can threaten vision later in life.
This does not mean that every nearsighted child will develop these problems. It does mean that reducing unnecessary progression is an important long-term goal.
Myopia management is about more than helping your child see clearly today. It is about taking steps to protect their future vision.
