Thought for the day......

We need to do more feet washing and less stone throwing, sometimes those stones leave bruises we don't see, no one is above kindness.

John 13:14-16
Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.

Thought for the week from last week's sermon.......

Did you know that 60% of churches in America today are considered "Universalist," what does this mean? They believe that God is going to forgive everyone and allow everyone into heaven on judgment day.

In today's society, we have strayed so far from the truth, the Christian faith is riddled with false teachings trying to appease everyone, so scared we are going step on someones toes if we talk about God's wrath, vengeance, or judgment on sin. God is not always butterflies and roses.

Luckily, I sit under a pastor that still preaches that old school "Hell fire and brimstone"

If you remember the story of S***m and Gomorrah, God warned them many times, and asked them to repent, they refused, and he finally destroyed the whole city. If you look at what is going on around us today, it is much like S***m and Gomorrah.......

Jude 1:7
In a similar way, S***m and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.

The ONLY way forward is if this country has a spiritual awakening and repents, we have got to quit placing one foot in the church and one foot in the world and turn back to Christ before it is too late.

Does your P*P still make you fast for labs ? 🧐

Hypercholesterolemia is the strongest modifiable risk factor for coronary heart disease, and measurement of plasma lipid levels is an integral part of overall cardiovascular risk assessment. Providers and patients are used to having lipid profiles measured when the patient has fasted because of the assumption that fasting lipid profiles avoid substantial variability in the results caused by eating. However, recent evidence has shown that nonfasting lipid testing is more suitable. 🙌

Large population studies performed over the last decade showed that serum lipid levels after eating show only minor variation. Other high-quality studies have shown that nonfasting lipid levels predict risk for coronary heart disease and stroke better than fasting lipid levels.

One study suggested that this is due to the added atherogenic effect of cholesterol in remnant lipoproteins, including intermediate density lipoproteins and chylomicron remnants, which cross the vascular endothelium like LDL and become trapped in the artery wall, contributing to plaque formation. Remnant cholesterol is captured along with LDL cholesterol in the non-HDL cholesterol level regardless of the time since eating.

Nonfasting lipid testing has been adopted as the norm in Denmark since 2009. In Canada, reporting of the nonfasting complete lipid profile, including LDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels, was adopted in Alberta in 2014 and has been recommended by the College of Family Physicians of Canada lipid guideline since 2015.

This is not something new, and should always be the standard for cardiovascular risk assessment ❤️

Attention ‼️

I have new pricing options on GLP-1 medications.

I have a new source that is compounding GLP-1 medications, the pharmacist will ship meds at no cost, the vials are 8-12 week vials, so visits are not as frequent, which I know some will love 😁 so visit pricing will change to accommodate the spacing, but medication is significantly less, it will save patients a total of about $400 in 6 months

Pricing is as follows 💰
First vial week 1-12 is $150 (12 weeks)
Second vial week 12-20 is $225 (9 weeks)
Third and final vial 2.4mg $320 (8 weeks)
Visits will be $250 for initial/ $125 for subsequents on this muti- dose option plan

Tirzepatide is also available, and pricing is significantly less as well, pricing caps out at $320 for a 4 week vial

Let's talk about how you can combat, and actually reverse insulin resistance in 10 easy steps.

1. Skip breakfast, push your first meal back so you cut your insulin spikes before lunch.

2. Cut out all added, unnecessary sugars.

3. Protein FIRST !!!!🥩

4. Eat fiber, always put fiber before any carbohydrates.

5. Resistance training at least 3 times per week, muscles soak up all the extra glucose in your body.💪

6. Stop snacking between meals, every bite you take is an extra insulin spike.

7. Walk at least 10 minutes after eating a meal, this will help blunt any sugar spikes you may experience.

8. Sleep at least 8 hours a night, if you skip this step, you are already insulin resistant before you get out of bed 😴

9. Drink more water !!!! 💦

10. Stop eating at least 3 hours before bed, you do not want to go to sleep on a blood sugar spike.

If you follow all of these 10 steps, you can reverse any insulin resistance you have and loose weight easier.

Why is weight loss cash pay?

Many patients do not understand the hoops that have to be jumped through to get weight loss medications covered by insurance, it is next to impossible, this is why all of my weight loss services are cash pay only 💰

We get calls daily regarding this matter, it takes months of visits, required documentation, mounds of paperwork, and many back and forth arguments with insurance companies to many times still be told no.

So I have been doing some research.......

This is just an example of a simple lab test, this is a CBC or complete blood count, the cash price at the hospital is $46.28, as you can clearly see.

Anyone can get online and lookup any test or exam you want to look up, along with pricing.

My cost for this same test is $15
I try to offer the most fair, reasonable prices for my patients here at the clinic, every test I offer if a fraction of what corporate medicine is charging, I think this pretty much speaks for itself, independent providers may be a dying breed, but we sure offer the best pricing 😉

So even if you do cash pay for a visit and labs, you still may come out cheaper, my cash price is $105/ per visit and labs are in the ballpark of $150 for a full panel, that may be less than the bill you get from your insurance, just depends on your deductible etc....

Just a reminder as we are getting more patient request to take this insurance, I have tried getting credentialed with Christus Insurance, and they will not credential me, they even refuse to let patients use our in house lab even though my lab is credentialed with them (LabCorp)

If you have this insurance, unfortunately they want to lock you into seeing providers within their system. I am happy to see you, but you would have to pay a cash pay office visit.

This is just another reason why I choose to stay independently owned and operated 😉
