On September 24, Save our Sons and Daughters SC is bringing together our community for an evening of connections, inspiration, advocacy, and purpose.

This isn’t just a meet and greet. It’s an opportunity to learn why this mission matters, here from community leaders and honor Julian’s legacy, and discover how each of us can play a part in making sure young adults know they are valued, supported, and never have to face a mental health crisis alone.

We’ll be joined by community leaders and advocates who are helping us have the conversations that matter—from community support and mental health systems to advocacy and policy.

Me: "I chose that photograph because I could see my son without having to look him in the face. For a while, that was the bargain I made with grief. If I couldn't see his whole face, I could pretend he wasn't really gone."

There's a story behind this photo I took of Julian at Flowertown Festival a little over two years ago. He tagged along with me while I was working. But in the middle of all the people and activity, he found a spot on a curb and sat down. The load of his thoughts must have been weighing him down. He carried more than other people could see. I had no way of knowing what THIS picture would eventually become. One year and one month later, his life inspired a mission-- Save Our Sons & Daughters SC. I asked God for a favor. Let it be in place by his birthday 8/30. It was granted.. and with plenty of time to spare 🙏. August's group is TONIGHT. This is an open group, and while signing up is helpful, it is not required. You can simply show up, share as much or as little as you need, and hopefully feel a little less alone as you walk through grief.

Eight years ago, I took a leap of faith and opened the doors to Planting A Seed Therapy.

If I’m honest, the journey hasn’t been easy. Over these past eight years, I’ve navigated a global pandemic, experienced deep loss, faced unexpected life transitions, and had moments where I questioned everything. Yet through every challenge, God has remained faithful, and my purpose has never changed.

Today, I celebrate more than a business anniversary. I celebrate resilience. I celebrate healing. I celebrate every client who trusted me with their story, every lesson that strengthened me, and every obstacle that reminded me why I started.

Eight years later, I’m still here. Still planting seeds. Still believing in hope. Still committed to pouring into others as they discover their own strength and healing.

The number 8 is often associated with new beginnings, abundance, strength, resilience, and the continuous cycle of growth. Turn it on its side, and it becomes the infinity symbol (∞), a beautiful reminder that the impact we make in the lives of others can continue far beyond what we ever see.

To every client who trusted me with your story, every colleague who encouraged me, every friend, family member, and supporter who believed in this vision, thank you!🙏🏽 You have all been part of this journey.

Eight years later, I’m still here.
Still planting seeds.
Still believing in the power of healing.
Still answering the call.
