Sugary drinks are sneaky, and they can cause cavities just like candy does!

While you may think that fruit juices and milk are great, healthy options for kids, they actually contain a good amount of sugar that teeth have to fight off after every glass. If you’re going give your kids drinks other than water, be sure to have them rinse their mouths after to wash away the sugar before it builds up in the grooves of their teeth!

Not all drinks are created equal when it comes to your teeth! Did you know that in an average sports drink, there can be up to 36 grams of sugar? That’s a lot of sugar for your teeth to fight off!

Even drinks that are seen as healthy, like plain milk, can have up to 12 grams in an 8 oz glass.

Water’s always your best bet, but if your kiddo wants another type of drink, at least make sure they’re rinsing with water afterwards!
