After playing outdoors, hiking, going to camp, or spending time in tall grass, take a few minutes to do a full tick check on your child. Be sure to look closely around the scalp, behind the ears, under the arms, around waistbands, between the legs, and behind the knees, as ticks love warm, hidden spots.⁠

If you find a tick, remove it promptly with fine-tipped tweezers by pulling straight upward. Most tick bites are harmless, but keeping an eye out for fever, rash, or flu-like symptoms afterward is important. A quick check can go a long way in helping keep your family safe this season! 🕷️💚

Say hello to one our newest Carnes Crossroad's providers — Tracie Lamb, MSN, CPNP.

Tracie earned her nursing degree from Seton Hall University and completed her advanced training at MUSC in 2024. As a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, she is passionate about caring for children and families in the Lowcountry. Outside of work, Tracie loves cooking, baking sourdough bread, and spending time at the beach with her husband, two daughters, and their dog, Sandy 🌴
