Today, during a conversation with a colleague, they reminded me of something powerful they have brought into sessions: We can’t expect ourselves in others.

We all have different values, perspectives, and ways of showing up. Holding others to the standard of who we are only creates frustration and disappointment. Embracing this truth frees us to focus on understanding, not control.

A reminder to let go, connect, and honor differences—it’s liberating.
