There it is, Folks! We are now under a Tornado Watch until at least 10:00 PM, and it may be extended.

Current forecast models continue to show a corridor of very severe weather both north and south of our area. While that may limit the overall severe threat locally, it also means we need to be prepared for the possibility of tornadic activity if storms develop in the right environment.

Now is the time to make sure your emergency plan is in place before a warning is issued.

Ask yourself:
• Where will you shelter if a tornado warning is issued?
• Do you have pillows, blankets, helmets, or other items available to protect yourself from falling debris?
• Are your cell phones charged?
• Do you have multiple ways to receive weather alerts overnight?

Being prepared now can save valuable seconds later.

Let’s be proactive, stay weather aware, and keep our families safe. We will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as needed.

80+ cars, a firehouse full of friends, and a great day for the Christy Fire Association Car Show!

The Christy Fire crew loves throwing a party, and you all showed up in a big way.

A huge thank you to Kolbs and Adamsons for keeping everyone fed with some amazing food. Congratulations to Eric, who won the 50/50 drawing and generously donated every penny back to the department!

The Sumner Farmers Market vendors also reported a fantastic day, and it was great seeing so many people supporting local businesses.

From all of us at Christy Fire, thank you. We appreciate every car owner, vendor, sponsor, volunteer, and spectator who chose to spend part of their day with us. We know your time and money are valuable, and we never take your support for granted.

We had great weather, great cars, great food, and even better company.

See you tomorrow!

Come hungry for breakfast, stay for lunch, and enjoy the car show. We’ll have great food from the Sumner Farmers Market crew, Kolbs, and Adamsons, along with plenty of sweet rides to check out.

We also have tons of door prizes and giveaways lined up throughout the day!

We are continuing to monitor the weather, and right now the forecast looks favorable through the morning and into the early afternoon. As a classic car owner myself, I know nobody enjoys getting their car wet or dirty, so we’ll keep a close eye on conditions and make any necessary adjustments if needed.

Registration opens at 8:00 AM, awards will be presented at 2:00 PM, and we can’t wait to see everyone at Christy Fire Station 1! 🚒🏁🚗

Kenzie Provines and the Beulah LIFT Group put together this amazing camping and summer-themed gift basket for Saturday’s Cruise-In! Packed full of goodies, it has everything you’d need for a great evening around the campfire.

Our department greatly appreciates Kenzie and all she does for us. Anytime there’s a meal or event, she’s one of the first people asking how she can help. Her willingness to serve others and support our firefighters never goes unnoticed.

Jeremy from Red Hill Raceway stopped by and dropped off some great door prizes for our Cruise-In!

If you haven’t checked out the new apparel in the Raceway gift shop, you’re missing out. They’ve got some great merchandise for race fans of all ages.

Not only will you see your Christy Firefighters working in the infield at every race, but you’ll also get to watch some of the best dirt track racing around. Red Hill Raceway is a tremendous asset to our community, and we appreciate Jeremy and the entire Raceway team for their continued support of our department and events.

Tom Weidner with VoMac Truck Sales & Service⁠ in Vincennes stopped by and dropped off a box full of swag for our Cruise-In door prizes!

There are some great items in the box, and we’re all hoping that Mack hat survives until Saturday and doesn’t mysteriously disappear before then. 👀

A big thank you to Brenda and the crew at Casey's for providing supper before tonight’s deep clean! They kept the crew fueled up with chicken strips, mac & cheese, and baked beans.

Did I get a picture of the guys eating? No. Much like everyone else, I was busy making sure the food disappeared.
