Empower My Teen

Empower My Teen Your teen is struggling and you don’t know what to do next. Let’s get your good kid back.

I’ve spent 20 years walking parents through behavioral and mental health challenges: therapeutic placement, case management, after-care, and advocacy. Since 2002, Mary Warren has empowered parents of struggling teens across Washington State and nationwide. A therapeutic and educational consultant and life and parenting coach, her personal journey with two of three of her children spiraling led her

to this rewarding work. With over two decades of experience, Mary's specialty is guiding families of at-risk teens to find a path to healing by finding the right mental health programs for each child's unique needs including wilderness therapy, therapeutic boarding schools, residential treatment and more. Have you ever caught yourself wondering...

"Why does it seem like everyone else's teen is doing just fine?"

It's a thought many parents have, but very few talk about.

This week, we're taking an honest look at the emotional weight of comparing our children's journey to everyone else's. When your teen or young adult's path looks different, it's easy to wonder if they're falling behind, or if you're somehow falling short as a parent.

In this week's episode, Is Your Teen Falling Behind? Coping With Comparison and Missed Milestones, we'll explore how comparison can make an already difficult situation feel even harder, and how shifting your perspective can help you support your child with greater confidence and compassion.

Today I'm sharing a brief clip from the episode.

Because your child's journey doesn't have to look like anyone else's to be meaningful.

It's hard to believe that the Empower My Teen Podcast launched just four weeks ago. 💛

First, I want to say thank you.

Thank you to everyone who has listened, shared an episode, sent a message, offered encouragement, or supported me along the way. Your kindness and support have meant more than you know.

When I first started thinking about creating this podcast, I had no idea what it would eventually become. In many ways, it feels like a different version of me started this journey.

Over the past few years—and especially over the past several months—there have been challenges, changes, growth, and a lot of learning.

Starting this podcast felt like taking a leap. I was excited, but if I'm being honest, I was also a little terrified to put myself out there. And finally seeing it come to life has been both exciting and incredibly meaningful.

Today, the Empower My Teen Podcast has reached 50 downloads. While that number may seem small to some, I know that behind every download is a parent, family member, or professional who chose to spend a few minutes listening. I don't take that for granted.

Thank you for being part of this journey with me. 💛

No one prepares you for this part of parenting. 💛

We spend so much time getting ready for the early years—the sleepless nights, first steps, school drop-offs, and milestones.

But what happens when your teen or young adult is struggling, and you find yourself carrying worry, fear, frustration, and exhaustion day after day?

This week on Empower My Teen, I'm talking about something many parents experience but few openly discuss: parenting burnout.

🎙️ Parenting Burnout: When Raising a Struggling Teen Feels Overwhelming

If you've ever felt like you're walking on eggshells, questioning your decisions, losing sleep, or simply feeling overwhelmed by the weight of it all, this episode is for you.

Parenting a struggling teen or young adult can be incredibly isolating. It can take a toll on your relationships, your well-being, and your ability to care for yourself.

Today I'm sharing a brief clip from the episode. I hope it reminds you that you're not alone and that support is available.

Listen to the preview today, and join me for the full episode this Thursday. 💛

Today is launch day 🎉

I’m so excited to officially share my new podcast, Empower My Teen, with you.

As a therapeutic educational consultant and parent coach, I’ve spent years supporting families through some of the hardest and most overwhelming seasons of parenting teens and young adults.

This podcast was created for parents who may feel exhausted, disconnected, scared, or unsure of what to do next.

In each episode, I’ll be sharing practical tools, honest conversations, and support to help parents better understand their teens, strengthen their connection, and feel a little less alone in the process.

🎧 Three episodes are available now!

You can listen at:

One of the hardest parts of parenting teens can be feeling like no matter what you say… they stop listening.

Today, I’m sharing a sneak peek from Episode 3 of Empower My Teen:

Why Your Teen Won’t Listen (And the 5 Words That Push Them Away)

This episode is all about communication, connection, and the small shifts that can sometimes make a very big difference in how our teens hear us.

The full episode will be available this Thursday as part of the podcast launch, along with two additional episodes. After launch, new episodes will air biweekly.

My hope is that these conversations bring both encouragement and practical tools to parents who are trying their best to stay connected with their teens through difficult seasons. 💛

As parents, we all ask ourselves difficult questions sometimes…

“Is this normal?”
“Should I be worried?”
“How do I know when my teen truly needs help?”

Today, I’m sharing a sneak peek from Episode 2 of Empower My Teen:

Is My Teen’s Behavior Normal or a Red Flag? How to Spot At-Risk Warning Signs

In this episode, I talk about some warning signs parents should pay attention to, while also reminding families that it’s important not to parent from fear alone but from awareness, connection, and support.

The full episode will be available this Thursday during the podcast launch, along with two other episodes.

I truly hope these conversations help parents feel more informed, empowered, and less alone. 💛

Sneak Peek: Episode 1 of Empower My Teen
For a long time, I’ve wanted to create a space where parents could feel seen, supported, and reminded that they are not alone.

Today, I’m sharing a sneak peek from the very first episode of my new podcast, Empower My Teen:

When Your Teen Is Struggling: My Story and How Parents Find Real Help

This first episode is deeply personal to me. I share part of my own journey, what led me to this work, and why I care so much about helping families find hope and connection during difficult seasons.

The full episode will be available this Thursday as part of the podcast launch, along with two additional episodes. After that, new episodes will air biweekly.

Thank you for being here with me as this journey begins.

Mother’s Day can feel different when things with your teen are hard.

It’s not always the day you imagined.
It’s not always easy to enjoy.

And it can bring up a lot that you don’t always say out loud.
