The 4th of July is almost here! 250 year anniversary of our country is so amazing! Everyone needs to take the time to go back and relook at all it took for our founding fathers to free us from British rule and allow us to govern ourselves, for the good of all of us. We are reminded through the eyes of all the World Cup Soccer fans that are coming into the US for the games, how great the USA really is. We have so many freedoms and are the land of plenty with so much available to us on a daily basis. How great is Buc-ee’s!! There is no other country that you can say anything and not be jailed for it like you would be in China, etc. Sometimes we get too used to the freedom and tolerances we enjoy in the USA. It is hard to believe we have people, even in our government, saying how bad this country is. They forget that if they said the same thing in their birth country it would result in them being jailed or worse. We all have different opinions, different beliefs, but the most important thing we must all remember is that in America, we are one. Allegiance to this country that so many died for to keep it strong is more important than our individual differences. Celebrate our great country this weekend. Be safe in doing so, keep the fireworks in the adults hands, watch the entertainment that Shaw AFB is putting on! It is always a wonderful show! We are living the dream, let's hope small individuals that want to destroy it for everyone do not prevail! God Bless America!
We will be closed a half day on Thursday and all day on Friday so my staff can celebrate our country's birthday. As always, if you need us you can call the office and it will direct you on how to get in touch with me.

May is here and seniors are getting ready to head off to college. It is an exciting time for them and somewhat sad for Mom and Dad. While you're busy buying everything they will need for their dorms, don't forget the most important thing they need to stay healthy! Immunizations! They are high risk for contracting meningitis while living in dorms or apartments, or just by sitting in those large lecture rooms! Call now and get them in!
We can get them in and out fast! One of the shots, Bexsero, needs a booster in 6 months so it is even more important not to wait!
Congratulations to all the high school graduates. We can't wait to see what is in their future!

This is the hardest post I have ever had to write, but let me tell you about a wonderful little boy and his family that I have had the honor to help them care for him. His name is Ethan Holladay. He was delivered into this world on July 9th 2007. From the day of his birth he has been nothing less than a gift from god to all who knew him. He was diagnosed as having a rare genetic disorder called Rhizomelic Chondrodysplasia Puntacta (RCDP)Type 1. His life expectation was one year. He was unable to talk and his vision slowly faded during his lifetime but his smile would light up a room on a regular basis. He needed care just as any helpless infant would, but that continued through out his wonderful life.
He was born into a family who loved every minute they had with him. He was never a burden to them. His parents made sure that his two brothers were never neglected and they lovingly cared for their brother too.
Having a totally disabled child can put a huge strain on a family and tear them apart but the Holladays only got stronger. They regularly took family trips camping, dressing up for Halloween, doing everything together! Melinda McCabe Holladay took on the task of being a strong advocate for this disorder and is the head of Rhizo Kids which works to help families with children with RCDP. She also took on Washington DC with many trips to talk in front of legislators to help bring awareness to others about the disorder. The family also took part in a world wide attempt to understand the disease and improve the life of these children. Families and doctors from all over the world participated.
Ethan was with them for 18 years due to their loving and meticulous care of him. Tuesday, December 30th, God called for Ethan. His little body was tired and he was ready.
The hardest thing a parent can lose is their child.
Please take a moment with me for a prayer for the family. Also take time to be with your own families, the time with them is so precious!

Merry Christmas
It's so nice to slow down and enjoy time with family and friends. All the shopping and gift wrapping is over, the kids are on their best behavior waiting for Santa to come. Now is a good time to put our cell phones on "do not disturb" and sit back and give thanks for all that we've been blessed with.
Like many families with grown children, we will be sharing their time with the inlaws and delivering gifts another day and that's okay. Everyday we celebrate Christmas through giving gifts that are more important than what can be bought and wrapped. Giving our time, helping our neighbors, just being there for our family and friends.
We will be open Christmas Eve in the morning and closed after that until Monday. As always, I am available by phone if you need anything. Have a very merry Christmas!

Happy Halloween
Tonight is "trick or treat" night. So much fun for everyone! All the kids dressed up in costumes, all the porches decorated. Whether you go door to door in your neighborhood, to your church or school, enjoy the time with family and friends. The kids grow up so fast, before you know it they will be trick or treating with there own children.
We love to see everyone's costumes! Post them here and we'll share them! The girls came up with great costumes at the office. Here's a picture of the ostriches with their handler!

Monday is Memorial Day, a day when we remember all of our fallen soldiers. We as a military community, are especially impacted by our family and friends who have suffered in a loss of a loved one who died for our country. Please keep all of these heroes in your thoughts and prayers on Memorial Day and every day.
The office will be closed on Monday but will be back open on Tuesday to take care of all your children's needs.

Summer is almost here! Seniors are getting ready to be sent off to college, families are planning vacations and summer camps. It is a time to get together and enjoy what the world has to offer! Lakes, mountains and islands if you're lucky! Weddings are also big in these warmer months and we are excited about one coming up in our family. Our youngest boy is getting married, and in Bermuda! That means I will be on vacation for the first time since opening for a week next week! The office will remain open and the girls can take care of anything you need.
We are also so blessed to have Dr Whitney Moses-Presbylis helping out in the office in the mornings to take care of any illnesses that come up. Many of you know her already and I'm sure everyone will love having her here next week.
Dont forget to get immunizations done for your senior prior to starting college. Protection against meningitis for this age is important!
