It started as a foggy morning outside the hotel, but once inside the California Sleep Society 2026 Annual Symposium, it was a totally different story and a fun vibe all around.
The California Sleep Society 2026 conference brought together people passionate about sleep health under same roof. Met old friends and got to meet some new people.
My top 5 takeaways:
1. Insomnia: CBT-I holds value when done right. Sometimes patients mistake sleep hygiene as CBT-I.
2. Insomnia patients are more prone to orthosomnia!
3. Better understanding of endotyping improves outcomes for surgical treatment of OSA.
4. Bruxism - In sleep apnea related bruxism, no difference in treatment efficacy in CPAP vs MAD.
5. OSA: Treatment landscape for OSA is continuing to expand - AD109, KPAP and Newer hypoglossal nerve stimulator devices on horizon.
And somewhere along the way, I got a chance to see real CPAP fashion! 😄
Thank you California Sleep Society creating such a fun atmosphere with karaoke and raffle prizes.
Already can't wait for what California Sleep Society 2027 has to offer. Looking forward to it!
