This wraps up pretty much first half of the year! I just wanted to thank my patients for all the support through such tough spring and start of the summer. I will see you when I return from my training in Egypt and Paris. I will be off-grid and will return all correspondence when I return.

It has been awhile since I’ve actually used my insurance (Kaiser) to obtain a full blood panel. I decided to pursue this when my P*P put in a requisition for non-fasting lipid panel (I guess they’re asking everyone in my demographics). It’s been 8 years since she has seen my bloodwork as I order my own full panels through outside labs. I was able to add CBC and chem panels with her, but she begrudgingly added magnesium despite recent history of muscle cramps and vitamin D saying that D is expensive as they had to send this out to outside lab (can you believe that?) and when she ran it 8 years ago, it was normal (over 30) so I never need one again. Really? How is this preventable for any illnesses by going with the numbers from 8+ years ago? If you come in with blood work from last year, I am ordering a new set of labs.

If your P*P orders your lab work like they’re afraid of the insurance company disciplining them for ordering too many biomarkers, you can always ask me for a wellness panel that includes everything you need…. And you don’t have to share with your P*P unless you like them. I do charge to read them, but the interpretation is well worth its value. This is real preventive medicine. Conventional medicine is guided not by their training but insurance money. My P*P told me that she doesn’t order vitamin D routinely because of cost. And on top of that, she has no idea what vitamin D does or how it relates to anything. If she truly understood what it does, she would order it on all her patients and not just non-fasting lipid panel so she can put more patients on statin drugs.

You don’t need to be fully ill in order to attend to your health, because when you have a diagnosis, it takes more money, time, and effort to reverse it.

You know I'm a huge proponent of doing some parasympathetic exercises, and my yoga studio is offering a special on their membership. I personally love hot yoga, because it can take you much deeper in the stretches but also sweating allows me to skip infrared sauna for detoxing. If you don't like yoga, you can definitely opt for IR sauna. I just love the movement as it stimulates the lymphatic system.

It’s looking like the internet will move in sooner than us.
