Trump's America First Agenda Advances: Federal Judge Allows End to Somali TPS Program

A federal judge has cleared the way for the Trump administration to end Temporary Protected Status for nearly 1,100 Somali nationals, lifting a previous legal block that had stalled enforcement. Those affected now face deportation unless they can establish another lawful basis to remain in the United States.

This ruling is a major victory for border security and the rule of law. For too long, TPS programs have been exploited as a backdoor amnesty, keeping foreign nationals in America indefinitely while they should have been subject to our immigration laws. The Trump administration is finally putting American sovereignty first — enforcing the borders, upholding the law, and ensuring that entry into this country means something.

The left will cry foul. They always do when enforcement actually happens. But this decision proves that the courts are beginning to recognize what common sense Americans already know: we cannot sustain open borders and catch-and-release policies. We have laws for a reason. When a president actually enforces them, it works.

Former congressman Pete King says his party should take Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez seriously as speculation continues. Speaking on Newsmax, King called the New York Democrat “totally unqualified” for the presidency but warned Republicans against assuming she could not become a formidable national candidate.

King argued that Ocasio-Cortez has a personality and communication style that appeal to voters. Rather than relying on personal attacks, he said Republicans should make substantive arguments against her progressive agenda and explain why they believe her policies would harm the country.

Her national following, fundraising strength and role in the Democratic Party’s progressive wing have continued to fuel speculation about her next move. King’s comments highlight a strategic question for Republicans: whether attacking her personally could strengthen her appeal instead of weakening it.
