🎓 Turning 18 makes you a legal adult. It doesn’t magically make you ready to navigate adulthood alone. 🧭

Emerging adults are still learning how to manage college 🎓, FAFSA 💰, finances 💳, healthcare 🩺, insurance 📋, employment 💼, and the countless systems that come with adulthood. Independence is meant to be taught and progressively transferred—not abruptly imposed.

When parents withdraw support before a young adult has the knowledge and skills to fully launch, they may not be teaching independence at all. 💔 They may unintentionally create setbacks that take years to overcome—delaying education, financial stability, career goals, and ultimately the very independence everyone wants them to achieve.

🪺 Launching means gradually letting go. Abandonment is letting go before they know how to fly. 🕊️
