Danny Edward Appleby the son of Forest E. and Ellen (Thomas) Appleby was born July 15, 1951 at St. Joseph, Missouri. He departed this life at his home in Edgar, Nebraska on Wednesday May 18, 2022.
Survivors include his wife Carol, step children: Susan and husband Russell Jacobs, Edgar NE, her children Joe and wife Kaitlyn McCutchan of Nelson, NE. Chantel McCutchan and great granddaughter Bella Rose of Hastings, NE. Sherrill and husband Dale Shum, Glenvil her children Amy and Nate Adams and great grandchildren Denver Rylan and Nixon Carter, Cairo, NE and her daughter Kaylee Jean Yost, Kearney,NE. Brian Yott , Aurora NE his son's Christopher Williams, Colorado Springs, CO and Cody Lee Webb, Cheyenne, WY Edward Barrett, and his sons Conner Barrett, Edgar, NE and Nickolas Barrett, Wittman, MA Twin brother Randy and wife Rita Appleby, Twentynine, Palms, CA and brother Shawn and wife Sharon Appleby, St. Joesph, MO and a host cousins and friends.

Verna Coxbill was born near Chester, Nebraska to John and Minola (Durham) Duey. Verna married Duane Coxbill June 19, 1953 and lived near Edgar Nebraska until Duane’s death in 2005. She moved into Edgar, and after spending two years in the Edgar nursing was moved to the Lancaster Rehab Center in Lincoln in 2015 where she resided until her passing on May 3, 2022.
Funeral services: Saturday 2:00 p.m., May 7, 2022 at Church of the Plains, Presbyterian Church, 407 North C Street, Edgar Nebraska; Pastor Ethan Feistner officiating. Burial to follow at Edgar Cemetery. Memorials to Church of the Plains, Presbyterian Church, Edgar, Nebraska. Condolences may be sent to the family at wmsfh.com.

Vergene L. Gunn, 91, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Westfield Quality Care in Aurora, NE. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Edgar, NE with Rev. Ethan Feistner officiating.
Survivors include children Randal (Carla) Gunn, Grand Island, NE; Larry (Judy) Gunn of Lincoln, NE; Beci (Chris) Blaha of Lincoln, NE; David Gunn of Mount Vernon, WA, and Kevin Gunn of Davenport, IA., sister-in-law Phyllis Nelson of Hastings, brother Daryl (Yvonne) Nelson of Roy, UT., five granddaughters, six grandsons, five great- granddaughters, eight great-grandsons, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Gerald “Jerry” Marvin Alber, age 79, of Blue Hill, Nebraska, passed away Saturday, May 14th, 2022, at his home on the farmstead south of town.
There will be no viewing or visitation as Gerald wished to be cremated. A private service with military rights will be held at a later date. Williams Funeral Home of Red Cloud is in charge of arrangements. His ashes will be interred with his wife Becky at the Red Cloud Cemetery.

Funeral services were Monday, 10:30 am, May 23, 2022, at the Red Cloud Bible Church with Jeff Ord officiating. Interment was at the Red Cloud Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Humane Society. Williams Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangement.

Rita Louise Mullet the daughter of Donald L. and Opal (Mickish) Mullet was born September 23, 1939, at Kearney, Nebraska. She departed this life on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at her home in Omaha, Nebraska.
Rita was a graduate of Superior High School, Superior, NE; the University of Nebraska, Lincoln; Indiana University with her master’s degree. Rita was employed as a registered dietitian for many years in the Omaha, NE area.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother John Mullet.
As per Rita's request a private burial was held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Superior, Nebraska at 2:00 pm, Wednesday February 9, 2022. The committal was overseen by Pastor Robert Hopkins. Condolences may be sent to wmsfh.com. Williams Funeral Home of Superior, NE was in charge of the arrangements.
