Kingswood Court has an update:
There is nothing more humbling than posting this: We have worked tirelessly to improve our dining experience and our turnover in staffing in our kitchen.
The last 3 days Sarah cooked and a number of things were realized - with the number one thing being: this is hard work!!
What makes it hard? It was 12-13 hours on your feet using brain muscles I don’t typically use.
One of my largest take away was: the residents appreciated it anyway and they went to bed happy each night!
We are going to be making some changes in our kitchen to bring our experience to something over the top because our residents deserve it!!!
Lori has been our dining director for a number of years but she’s tired- like I said.. long hours! She has been a passionate adaptable leader for us but has decided to step down to being a cook and not overseeing the kitchen.
In her place- we have hired a dining supervisor that comes to us with over 24 years of experience and a great passion and heart for our residents (name to be shared at a later date) she will start Oct. 5.
With this change - one of my biggest hopes is to find some cooks that have a true passion for cooking from the heart and making our residents happy! This is not going to be a job but a true calling to help others in need of great meals and a smile.
We are adjusting the hours to need a breakfast/lunch cook and another individual for supper. Our hope is these shortened hours can make it more manageable on our employees well being!
