The Child Rescue Coalition offers some excellent resources to help families better understand online dangers, start important conversations with their children and take practical steps to keep them safer. They even offer a free downloadable book for parents filled with helpful, easy-to-understand information.

Take a few minutes to explore and share it with another parent or caregiver. When it comes to protecting our children, knowledge truly is power.

WE'RE SO EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THAT WE WILL SOON HAVE 3 OFFICES IN BRUNSWICK COUNTY! Someone asked us recently why we would open 3 offices in the same county. The answer is always the same.. Our mission is to make mental health care accessible to the residents of Brunswick County and surrounding areas and we take that very seriously. So seriously that when saw what our waiting list looks like right now we had to take action. Our 3rd office will be opening soon ( date TBD) and will allow us space for several more outpatient clinicians. We can't wait!

As we wrap up Child Abuse Prevention Month, we want to take a moment to share some important information about mandated reporting.

Everyone here at Moving Ahead Counseling Services PLLC (MACS), along with other professionals in North Carolina—such as mental health providers, doctors, nurses, teachers, and childcare professionals—are mandated reporters.

What this means for you:
Making a report to the Department of Social Services (DSS) is not something we take lightly. These decisions are never made casually, and they are not something we do often. However, there are times when reporting is legally required when there are concerns about safety, abuse, or neglect.

In most situations, when it is safe and appropriate to do so, we will make every effort to speak with the client or guardian first to discuss concerns and provide clarity before making a report. However, there may be situations where immediate action is required and prior discussion is not possible.

Our responsibility is always to protect the well-being of children and vulnerable individuals while continuing to provide compassionate, respectful care.

Free DBT Teen group.. Mondays from 6pm to 7pm in our Supply Office. First session 3/30/26 , last session 6/8/26. The group is limited to the 1st 10 participants who sign up. Participants will learn skills related to emotional regulation, mindfulness, and getting along with peers.
