This is THE hardest AND most bittersweet letter I have ever written in my sixty-two years of life. I truly feel words cannot convey the magnitude of what I want to express. If God had not implemented a chain of events that stemmed from a tooth, I would have continued providing Chiropractic care as I always have and remained contemplating “when?” The onset and effects of this illness have led to my resultant decision to retire and close my practice. Please know that Rick, Sharon, Erin, Tina and I have pursued every avenue to continue the legacy of Holden Beach Family Chiropractic. Our endeavor to achieve this goal has not yielded the desired outcome we so desperately sought. Consequently, with a discouraged and heavy heart, Holden Beach Family Chiropractic will close Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
God has most certainly blessed my life in many ways. Rick, my incredible husband of thirty-seven years, has been more than supportive throughout our married life as well as this health journey. He has watched me laugh, cry, pray and grow through dedication to my profession. We have two wonderful children, Elise and Eric, who most of you have watched grow into the fantastic adults of whom I am immensely proud. As of last year, their two weddings yielded life partners we are grateful for and love in the form of a son-in-law, Jabin, and a daughter-in-law, Tina. We have three grandchildren, Porter, Ezekiel, Zoey, and Tate. These children provide joy and never-ending excitement to our lives. I could never thank Rick, Elise or Eric enough for ALL they have done, knowingly and unknowingly, through the years and for being my family, I am truly blessed and filled with gratitude.
I have also been blessed to have had Sharon as an office manager or “OM” and her assistant, Sophie. Sharon has been a vital part of Holden Beach Family Chiropractic’s success for thirteen years!!! We have accumulated an extraordinary number of memories, joys, sorrows and prayers together. I can’t thank Sharon enough for her dedication to the practice and her ability to endure every day with me. Sharon, thank you for ALL you have provided in my life. I am going to miss our daily time together.
I will also miss the constant connection with each of you. God has blessed me with twenty-six years of remarkable individuals. Individuals who have touched my heart and filled my life with purpose. Because of each of you, my “job” as being a healthcare provider for this community has been especially rewarding. I am truly blessed and grateful for ALL you have imparted to me. The many that I have cared for, prayed for, prayed with and grown with have left such an impression on my life that I have no words but “thank you Lord”.
Thank you from my heart. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve you. God bless each of you.
