Today, we recognize Dr. Andy Tran and the patients whose lives have been touched through his completion of 400 WATCHMAN™ implant procedures.

The WATCHMAN™ implant is a minimally invasive procedure designed to help reduce stroke risk in patients with atrial fibrillation (AFib). The device is placed inside a small area of the heart where blood clots can form and potentially lead to stroke. For many patients, this procedure can provide an alternative to long-term blood thinner medications.

More than a procedural achievement, this moment reflects the hundreds of patients impacted through Dr. Tran’s commitment to advancing comprehensive AFib care.

Dr. Andy Tran and our surgical team recently performed our first procedure using Boston Scientific’s FARAPULSE™ Pulsed Field Ablation System.

Over the past four months, Dr. Tran and our teams at Peak Surgery Center in Avondale and Peak Cardiovascular Center in Surprise have performed multiple Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) procedures using next-generation technologies to treat atrial fibrillation.

PFA is a minimally invasive treatment for AFib that uses targeted electrical pulses to treat abnormal heart tissue while helping protect nearby structures. Benefits include greater precision, reduced risk to surrounding tissues, and improved patient recovery.

The continued growth of our PFA program reflects our commitment to bringing advanced AFib treatment options to the communities we serve.

Peak Heart & Vascular enjoyed participating in The Bluffs of Flagstaff Senior Living Health and Wellness Fair yesterday. It was a pleasure connecting with residents and community members while providing complimentary blood pressure screenings and sharing information about cardiovascular health.

Events like these highlight the importance of early detection and proactive care. A simple blood pressure check can offer meaningful insight into heart health and help guide next steps for prevention or treatment.

New projections released this week by the American Heart Association highlight a concerning future for women’s cardiovascular health. The AHA report estimates that by 2050, nearly 60% of U.S. women age 20+ will have at least one form of cardiovascular disease, up from 44% in 2020.

The projected rise is largely fueled by increasing rates of high blood pressure, obesity, and diabetes.

The AHA underscores the need for stronger prevention efforts and earlier intervention to change the trajectory of women’s cardiovascular health.

At Peak Heart & Vascular, we believe prevention is power. We are advancing women’s cardiovascular care across Arizona through early risk identification, advanced diagnostics, personalized treatment, and multidisciplinary cardiovascular expertise.

Peak Heart & Vascular is proud to share an exciting milestone. Dr. Andy Tran, Founding Partner, Cardiologist, and Cardiac Electrophysiologist, and our surgical team have successfully completed our first atrial fibrillation ablation using the VARIPULSE Platform by Johnson & Johnson at Peak Surgery Center.

This advanced system uses pulsed field ablation (PFA), a next-generation technology that treats atrial fibrillation by targeting the areas of the heart causing the irregular rhythm while helping protect surrounding tissue. Unlike traditional ablation methods that rely on heat or extreme cold, PFA delivers gentle, controlled electrical pulses that focus only on the problem cells. For patients, this may mean a safer procedure, less risk to nearby structures, and a smoother recovery.

Bringing innovative procedures like pulsed field ablation to our ambulatory surgery centers reflects our continued commitment to advancing cardiovascular care across Arizona.
