Yesterday, Vineyard Park Surprise was proud to host SPOTLIGHT’s West Valley meeting and the kickoff for the 2026 Walk to End Alzheimer’s!

More than 50 people joined us for an afternoon of networking, education and community support. A special thank-you to our speakers Lonie Padilla with Encompass Health, Jamie Bond with NorthStar Memory Care Navigation and Samantha Mason with the Alzheimer’s Association.

Since it was also National Soft Ice Cream Day, Billet Health sponsored a soft-serve ice cream truck for our guests and residents to enjoy. Thank you! We also kicked off our Alzheimer’s fundraising efforts and collected $108 in donations!

Searching for senior living can feel overwhelming because there are so many unfamiliar terms and choices.

A simple place to begin is by asking yourself a few questions:

• Is home maintenance becoming difficult?
• Has preparing meals or managing medications become more challenging?
• Is loneliness or isolation becoming a concern?
• Would more opportunities for social connection improve everyday life?
• Is extra support needed now, or are you simply planning ahead?

You don't need all the answers today. Many families spend time learning, asking questions and exploring their options before making any decisions.

What's one piece of advice you would give someone just beginning this journey? Your experience might help another family who sees this post.
