🌫️ Smoke in the air doesn't just affect your lungs—it can irritate your eyes, too. 👀
If you've been spending time outdoors during smoky conditions, your eyes may feel dry, itchy, red, watery, or like there's something stuck in them.
Here are a few simple ways to protect your eyes:
• Stay indoors as much as possible when air quality is poor.
• Keep windows and doors closed.
• Wear sunglasses or protective eyewear if you need to be outside.
• Use preservative-free artificial tears to help soothe dry, irritated eyes.
• Apply a cold compress for 10–15 minutes at a time to help reduce irritation and soothe your eyes.
• Avoid rubbing your eyes, as this can make irritation worse.
• If you wear contact lenses and your eyes are uncomfortable, switch to glasses until the irritation improves.
