Veterans Brain Health Summit: Hope Begins with Recognition brings military experience, clinical expertise, and practical resources together for a conversation about PTSD, mild traumatic brain injury, moral injury, and changes in cognition, mood, and daily life—but most importantly: what now?

This summit is about addressing the invisible wounds of war through brain health education, guidance, camaraderie, and support so veterans can move toward the full and happy lives they deserve after service.

Keynote Speakers:

Dr. Anastacia Nichols, Director of Neuropsychology for the Emory Healthcare Veterans Program, brings practical clinical understanding and an insight into EHVP methods that produce such excellent outcomes for veterans.

Clay Worley, MS, U.S. Marine and US Army veteran, will introduce his former Marine Corps drill instructor, longtime mentor, and later trusted partner in service, our honored guest speaker, Sgt Maj (ret) William Skiles, a 30-year United States Marine Corps veteran whose service includes combat in Fallujah and who developed the Marine Corps’ first Sergeants Major Course and advance ethics and mentoring programs across the Corps.

Dr. Nichols will also moderate Voices of Experience, Care & Hope, featuring Dr Amy Stevens, Ed.D., LPC, veteran and founder of Georgia Military Women; Drs. Mahsa Mojallal, Laura Watkins, and Adriana Miu of Emory Healthcare Veterans Program; Nick Bellenbaum, MBA, CEO and retired Navy SEAL; Christine Curtin, Executive Director of the American Foundation For Su***de Prevention - Georgia Chapter; and Katie Bagosy, MHA, Gold Star spouse.

Veterans, families, professionals, and community members are invited to the Veterans Brain Health Summit, a free event focused on brain health, dementia risk reduction, and support for those who have served.

Experts will share the latest research, practical strategies, and resources addressing early detection, lifestyle approaches to cognitive health, and the impact of PTSD and traumatic brain injury on veterans and their families.

Seating is limited—early registration is encouraged.

Hosted with support from Skylark Senior Care, the Alzheimer’s Association, Emory Veterans Program, and veteran-owned businesses Fit Fighters Club and ElderVisor. Community partners include Catholic War Veterans, The Warrior Alliance, Johns Creek Veterans Association, Sandy Springs/Dunwoody VFW Post 10822, Georgia Department of Veterans Services, and United Military Care.
