Please join me in congratulating members of Cheshire County EMS who were recognized this evening for their heroic actions and commitment to patient care.

Tonight, our providers were honored with the Cardiac Arrest Save Award, an award presented to EMS professionals whose actions directly contributed to a patient surviving an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Survival from cardiac arrest is rarely the result of one individual—it is the culmination of rapid recognition, exceptional teamwork, clinical excellence, and a commitment to delivering the highest level of care when seconds matter most.

In addition to receiving the Cardiac Arrest Save Award, Cheshire County EMS was presented with a Commendation from the New Hampshire Executive Council recognizing the outstanding lifesaving efforts of our providers and their contributions to the citizens of the Monadnock Region.

These awards represent the dedication, professionalism, and compassion our crews bring to work every day. While the recognition is appreciated, the greatest reward remains seeing patients reunited with their families and given the opportunity for more time with those they love.

Congratulations to all of the award recipients. Cheshire County EMS is proud of your accomplishments and I am truly honored to serve alongside you.

As EMS Week 2026 comes to a close, I just want to take a moment to say thank you.

Thank you to every EMT, AEMT, paramedic, dispatcher, firefighter, nurse, physician, law enforcement officer, and support staff member who answers the call day after day — regardless of the hour, weather, holiday, or personal sacrifice involved.

This week is meant to recognize EMS, but the truth is the work never stops. Behind every call is a provider missing dinner with family, running on little sleep, carrying the weight of difficult calls, and still showing up with compassion and professionalism for complete strangers. That commitment deserves recognition not just this week, but every single day.

At Cheshire County EMS, I could not be prouder of our staff and the care they provide to our communities. Whether it is a critical emergency, a transfer between hospitals, a public assist, a standby, or simply taking the time to comfort someone on what may be the worst day of their life — our crews continue to embody what EMS is truly about: service, compassion, and dedication.

I also want to thank our families and loved ones. EMS is not a career that can be done alone. The long hours, missed events, interrupted sleep, and emotional toll are often shared by those waiting for us at home. Their support makes this work possible.

Finally, thank you to the communities we serve for your trust and support. It is an honor and a privilege to serve you.

Today, we wanted to take the time and recognize Sam as he has completed his final shift at CCEMS this morning. While Sam’s passion for serving others remains as strong as ever, he is switching gears to begin a new chapter by enlisting in the United States Air Force.

For those who haven’t had the pleasure of working with him, Sam has been an outstanding employee and a dedicated coworker. He has a unique gift for lifting spirits and making people laugh, yet he was always available for a genuine conversation or to offer support when it was needed most.

Sam, we are incredibly proud of your decision to serve our country. Your CCEMS family will miss you, and we wish you nothing but the best as you head off to basic training!

In just the past 48 hours, your Cheshire County EMS crews have responded to 57 calls for service across our region.

From Marlborough to Brattleboro (VT), Stoddard to Keene, and everywhere in between—our teams have been on the move handling everything from interfacility transfers and motor vehicle accidents to fire standbys, strokes, and cardiac arrests.

This is what “any tone, anywhere, anytime” truly looks like.

Behind every one of these calls are providers who have worked long hours, missed sleep, and remained ready to answer the next request for help without hesitation. Their commitment to this community does not go unnoticed.

Behind every call is a calm presence, a steady voice, and a highly skilled individual guiding both the public and our responders through some of life’s most difficult moments. Your ability to bring order to chaos, to offer reassurance when it’s needed most, and to serve as the critical link between those in need and those who respond does not go unnoticed.

Hi, and welcome to or back to the Cheshire County EMS page this is your newest Captain speaking.
Please sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.
With this new promotion, I’ve also been given the opportunity to help with our social media after management recognized I’m a semi-professional Facebooker.
My goal is to give everyone a better look at who we are, what we do, and share the exciting things happening at Cheshire County EMS along with some fun moments and educational information along the way. Please feel free to like and share help build up our followers.

After more than a year of planning, coordination, and perseverance, Cheshire County EMS has officially taken delivery of two new ambulances.

These units represent a significant investment in the safety, reliability, and long-term sustainability of our system. Fleet replacement at this level does not happen overnight — it requires detailed specifications, budgeting, oversight, and continuous follow-through to bring a project from concept to delivery.

I would like to specifically recognize Captain Cummings and Deputy Chief Atkins for their hard work and steady leadership throughout this entire process. From design and vendor coordination to tracking timelines and ensuring the units meet our operational needs, their dedication was instrumental in getting these ambulances across the finish line.

I also want to thank the Cheshire County Commissioners and leadership for their continued support of public safety infrastructure and their commitment to ensuring our crews have dependable equipment to serve the people of Cheshire County.

The units will now be lettered and finalized before entering frontline service. Once placed in service, they will enhance system reliability, reduce maintenance downtime, and ensure we remain ready — Any Tone, Any Place, Any Time.

Thank you to everyone who played a role in this project, and to the crews who will soon put these ambulances to work serving our communities every day.
