☀️ Start your mornings with movement, mindfulness, and positive energy! Join us for Flex and Flow’s Morning Flow classes every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 6AM. Whether you’re looking to build strength, improve flexibility, or simply start your day feeling refreshed, we’d love to have you on the mat! 🧘‍♀️✨

The beginning of June we will hold classes in the High School room 401.
Once school is out and construction begins classes will be moved out the our football stadium.

Training for a race isn’t just about the miles you log — it’s about the ones you don’t.

The rest days. The slower days. The “do nothing and don’t feel guilty about it” days.

Because here’s the truth most people skip over: your body doesn’t get stronger during the run… it gets stronger when you recover from it.

Some days that recovery looks like stretching, extra sleep, or an easy walk.

And some days? It looks like a massage, letting someone else do the work while your muscles finally unclench and say “thank you.”

Recovery isn’t being lazy — it’s being smart.
It’s what keeps you consistent, injury-free, and actually improving instead of just grinding yourself into the ground.

So if your training plan says “rest,” don’t negotiate with it.

Lean in. Recover like it matters — because it does. This is what it needs to be a Complete Runner

First time completing the Crim Festival of Races this year ✨

What a beautiful morning to move. There’s something special about seeing so many Flint residents out—walking, running, showing up in their own way.

Longer efforts like this are a good reminder: fueling matters. Gummies on deck + staying on top of hydration (don’t skip the salt) made all the difference today.

Sometimes everything clicks and you have that perfect workout. You know the one—smooth, strong, maybe even a little magical.

…And then there’s real life. Especially mom life.

Right now I’m training for the Crim 10 Miler and the Detroit Free Press Marathon, which sounds impressive until you realize I don’t train alone. Enter my “elite” training partners—my kids. Because obviously what every training plan needs is a little chaos sprinkled in.

On long runs, they’re my unofficial pace setters. What’s supposed to be a nice, easy jog quickly turns into: start running → immediate stop because someone wiped out on a bike → restart → 3 seconds of peace → me yelling “STAY RIGHT!” and “DON’T RIDE SO CLOSE!” → followed by me sprinting after tiny humans who suddenly think they’re in the Tour de France.

It’s less “zone 2 training” and more “surprise intervals with a side of parenting.”

I mean… I know this is making me a stronger runner. Mentally and physically. But wow—sometimes mom just needs a minute. 😅
