On October 20, members of TWU HOSA spent their Day of Service at Sweetwater Hospital Association making thank-you cards for our dietary staff. They then hand-delivered the cards to show their appreciation for the team members who work hard to care for our patients every day.

Did you know Sweetwater Hospital Association offers DEXA bone density scanning?

Osteoporosis is a condition that causes bones to become weak and brittle, increasing the risk of fractures. Often called a “silent disease,” osteoporosis can develop without noticeable symptoms until a bone breaks.

A DEXA scan is a quick, noninvasive test that measures bone mineral density and helps identify osteoporosis before a fracture occurs. Early detection can help you and your healthcare provider take steps to protect your bone health and reduce your risk of fractures.

Bone health matters at every age, especially as we get older. With DEXA scans available at SHA, you can take an important step toward protecting your health without traveling far from home.

In October, We Wear Pink!

Throughout the month of October SHA staff are proudly wearing pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Together, we stand with the fighters, celebrate the survivors, honor those we have lost, and encourage everyone to prioritize their health through awareness and early detection.

At SHA, caring for our community goes beyond the walls of our hospital. We’re proud to come together to spread hope and show support.

This week is Sterile Processing Week! SHA is celebrating the hardworking team that is the heart of our Sterile Processing Department!

At Sweetwater Hospital Association, our Sterile Processing Department is led by Danielle and Brittany, affectionately known throughout the hospital as “The Sisters!” Their dedication, attention to detail, and behind-the-scenes work play an important role in supporting our surgical team and providing safe, quality care to our patients.

Danielle and Brittany, thank you for all you do and for being such an important part of the SHA family! We appreciate you both more than you know!

Today marked the start of employee flu vaccinations at Sweetwater Hospital Association! To kick things off, employees who received their flu shot today enjoyed a free pumpkin spice iced coffee as a little fall treat.

While the pumpkin spice was a fun way to celebrate the season, protecting the health of our employees, patients, and community is what matters most. Flu vaccines help reduce the risk of getting the flu and can lower the risk of serious illness and hospitalization.

As we head into flu season, we encourage everyone to talk with their healthcare provider about getting their annual flu vaccine. Taking this simple step can help protect you and those around you!
