City Council met today in a special meeting to canvass the May 2 election among other items. Pictured are Ralph Hernandez (District 1), Kenny Miller (District 2), Julian Dominguez (District 3), and Thomas Strayhorn (District 4) being sworn in by City Secretary Shai Green.

Regular City Council meetings are held on the first Monday of each month. Residents can view meeting agendas and recordings online at snydertx.gov/agendacenter.

Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable and treatable cancers when caught early.

January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, a dedicated time to promote prevention through HPV vaccination and regular cervical cancer screenings (Pap tests/HPV tests), as over 99% of cases are caused by HPV, making it a highly preventable cancer with early detection and intervention. The month focuses on education, encouraging timely screenings, HPV vaccination for adolescents, and supporting those affected, with the goal of eliminating cervical cancer.
