🇺🇸 Happy Fourth of July! 🇺🇸

Today, we celebrate 250 years of America and wish everyone a safe, joyful, and meaningful Independence Day.

Whether you’re spending the day with family, friends, neighbors, or fellow first responders, we hope you take time to enjoy the traditions, make lasting memories, and reflect on the freedoms we share.

If you’re celebrating with fireworks, please remember to:
☑️ Wear eye and ear protection.
☑️ Keep a bucket of water, hose, or fire extinguisher nearby.
☑️ Maintain a safe distance from spectators, homes, and dry vegetation.
☑️ Closely supervise children and never allow them to handle fireworks.
☑️ Never relight a malfunctioning firework.
☑️ Keep pets safely indoors, as fireworks can be frightening for them.

Today is Take Your Dog to Work Day!

Every day is Take Your Dog to Work Day for facility dogs, who work full-time with staff to achieve specific treatment or program goals. Today, we are excited to share that Hero Dogs S1c John Coltrane, USN has been placed as a facility dog at Branch of Hope, LLC, a private practice in Sykesville, MD providing mental health services focusing on first responders, military members, veterans, and their families. ⁣
⁣
In addition to being a calming and comforting presence in therapy sessions, Hero Dogs Coltrane will provide support to police and fire departments after critical incidents. We can't think of a better placement for him!⁣
⁣
⁣We want to extend our sincerest gratitude to all those who supported Coltrane's journey. Thank you to Osprey Labradors for donating him as a puppy and to his puppy raisers, Chitwan and Rahul. We also want to thank his puppy sponsor, Jazz Solutions, Inc., and Barb Baumann and Mike Conrad for providing his puppy scholarship.⁣

Join our new From the Front Lines to the Front Door support group—a safe, welcoming space for spouses, partners, and significant others of first responders to connect, share experiences, and support one another.

Open to those supporting law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, corrections professionals, and other emergency responders.

At Branch of Hope, we believe strong communities are built when those who serve others have support too.

Our sister organization, Roots of Strength Mental Health Services, is offering a Moral Injury Support Group designed specifically for first responders and military veterans navigating guilt, shame, anger, or disconnection related to their service.

This virtual group provides a safe, supportive space for connection, understanding, and practical tools for healing.
