It comes with great sadness that I announce that my mother Dr Karen Gana passed peacefully last week after a grueling fight with cancer. Her resilience, grace, and strength through all the times of uncertainty will be remembered by her family as well as by her loyal and beloved patients but I know she saw you all as friends.

Thank you for believing in her work as a healer in a world and society that seems to want to keep people sick. We don't know what's on the other side but I truly believe she is at peace and no longer bound by the physical limitations of her body here on this Earth. I know she will keep shining and I will always be reminded of her when I see a bird in flight or hear an Owl hoot as that was her favorite bird.

What I've taken away from my mother is that she always strived to do good and help people no matter the risk, cost, or difficulty she faced. She always said we were put on earth to do good and I think she had done that in all the hats she wore in life. I'm so proud of her and I hope you continue to put your health first in whatever modality you choose.

This announcement is done with a heavy heart....due to my ongoing health issues, I will be closing my office at the end of April. I feel I need to concentrate on my health and reduce as much stress as I can. I thank all my patients for your continued faith in me and I hope you learned the value of acupuncture in your health and wellness maintenance.
