ARISE-EFR is excited to invite participants enrolled in OPWDD services, age 18 and older, to our June Friday Night Dance featuring a fun Beach Theme! 🏖️🎶

Join us for an evening of music, dancing, laughter, and socializing with friends old and new!

📅 Friday, June 12
⏰ 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
📍 SALTspace, 103 Wyoming St., Syracuse, NY 13204

💵 Admission is $5 per participant (cash only). DSPs and natural supports attend free!

🍿 Small snacks will be available for purchase (50¢ each). Please note that dinner will not be provided.

🚗 Free gated parking is available on-site.
✅ No RSVP required — just come ready to have fun!

Please note: ARISE-EFR does not provide transportation for this event. Participants should attend with a DSP, natural support, or be able to participate independently.

🦁🌟 A Night of Smiles, Discovery, and Community! 🌟🐧

On Friday, June 12, several ARISE-EFR team members had the privilege of volunteering at the annual Dream Night at the Zoo at the beautiful Rosamond Gifford Zoo!

Dream Night at the Zoo began in the Netherlands in 1996 and has grown into a worldwide tradition, giving children with disabilities, chronic illnesses, and other challenges, along with their families, the opportunity to enjoy a special evening at the zoo free of charge. 🌍✨

Our team had an incredible time helping guests create animal-themed magnets, testing their wildlife knowledge with a fun zoo trivia game, and sharing some cuddly new stuffed animal friends that quickly found loving homes! 🧸

Events like Dream Night remind us of the power of community, connection, and creating spaces where everyone can experience the joy and wonder of a night at the zoo. Thank you to the zoo staff, volunteers, sponsors, and families who made this unforgettable evening possible! 🐘

📢 Join ARISE-EFR at the 2026 CNY ADA Celebration & March! ♿🎉

This July, let's come together to celebrate the power of advocacy, accessibility, and the rights of people with disabilities!

Join ARISE-Exceptional Family Resources and community partners on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, for the annual ADA Celebration Ceremony and March in downtown Syracuse. The ceremony and flag raising begin at 11:30 AM in front of Syracuse City Hall, followed by the march at 12:00 PM through downtown to Clinton Square.

The Americans with Disabilities Act has helped break down barriers and expand opportunities for millions of Americans. Together, we'll celebrate how far we've come and continue advocating for a future where everyone has the freedom to pursue the life they choose.

The Ombudsman Program at ARISE-Exceptional Family Resources is here to advocate for the rights, dignity, and well being of residents across Central New York.

Ombudsmen work alongside residents and families to listen, investigate concerns, and help find solutions. They also empower individuals to speak up and advocate for themselves. Best of all, this service is free and confidential.

Serving Onondaga, Oswego, Cayuga, and Cortland counties, this program is a vital voice for those living in long term care settings.

☀️🍉 Community Resource Alert! 🍎🌽

Please note: This is NOT an ARISE-EFR service. We are sharing this information on behalf of OCO Nutrition Services to help connect families with available community resources.

The 2026 Summer Food Service Program is offering FREE meals for all children ages 18 and under at multiple locations throughout Oswego County this summer. Most sites do not require registration, making it easy for families to access healthy breakfasts, lunches, and snacks while school is out.

📍 Locations include Fulton, Oswego, Hannibal, Central Square, Bernhards Bay, and more.
📅 Programs begin as early as June 29 and run through August.
🥪 Meal times and locations vary by site.
