"Frank and I have been together for 15 years. We got married in 2016 and were eager to start our family, but year after year, it just wasn't happening. We tried to stay positive and kept going. When COVID hit, everything came to a pause, and we did our best to remain hopeful.

In 2023, we decided it was time to get some answers. I was officially diagnosed with PCOS and began medication to help manage my symptoms. Further testing led us to the difficult news that IVF was our only real option, as our chances of conceiving naturally were very low.

We began exploring our options and quickly realized we didn't have many. Neither of our employers offered fertility coverage for IVF, and the quotes we received for local treatment were simply out of reach. That's when we found CNY, and for the first time, our dream finally felt like it could become a reality.

We live in Minnesota and decided to travel to the Colorado Springs location. In May 2025, we began the process for our first egg retrieval, which took place in June. We had success creating embryos, and in August we proceeded with our first FET and it worked. We couldn't believe it. After nine years of trying and nothing but negative tests, we finally had our first positive. Each week that followed went smoothly, and we had a wonderful pregnancy. In April 2026, we finally welcomed our baby girl.

IVF genetic testing can be incredibly helpful in some situations, but it is not necessary or equally useful for every patient 🧬🧫

When most people talk about IVF genetic testing, they mean PGT-A, which screens embryos for chromosomal abnormalities. The potential benefits of PGT-A include better embryo selection, fewer failed transfers, and a lower miscarriage risk related to chromosomal issues. But it’s important to understand what it can’t do: it does not improve embryo quality, fix abnormal embryos, or create more healthy embryos.

PGT-A may improve success rates per transfer, but it may not increase overall live birth rates per egg retrieval, especially in younger patients with a good prognosis.

Other types of testing, like PGT-M and PGT-SR, are different. These are used when there is a known inherited genetic condition or chromosomal rearrangement, and for the patients who need them, the benefits can be especially significant.

The key takeaway: genetic testing in IVF is highly individualized, and the pros and cons depend on the specific type of testing and the patient’s unique situation!

Brooke gave the sweetest shoutout to our amazing team members Brandis Montez & Justine Taylor! ☺️✨

Her words to those still on the journey is: "I wish I had been better prepared for how isolating infertility can feel. I also wish I hadn't let the uncertainty of each cycle keep me from being present with the people I love. I used to tell friends I couldn't make plans because I didn't know what my IVF cycle would look like. Eventually, I learned to say "I'll be there unless I'm in the middle of a cycle" — and that small shift made a big difference. People became more understanding, and I stopped missing out as much.

Having a support system really does help, even when it feels like no one around you can truly relate. Keep surrounding yourself with love and hope. During my two-week wait especially, I did everything I could to stay relaxed and feel happy — easier said than done, I know. But I colored, spent time with friends and family, cooked good food, did puzzles, watched movies, and bought myself a few new things. Whatever helped me feel a little better in the moment was worth it. And don't be afraid to make those "faith purchases" — buying a baby toy or outfit doesn't jinx anything. Think of it as a manifestation!"
