Dr. Renée S. Melfi, graduated from St. George’s University School of Medicine and went on to complete her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the prestigious Baylor College of Medicine, where she served as Chief Resident. She received further specialized training with Musculoskeletal Medicine and Interventional Spine fellowships at Louisiana State University. Dr. Melfi was trained
by one of the most renowned spinal interventionalists in the world, Dr. Charles Aprill. With more than 15 years of training and experience, she’s so respected in her field that she was the first female instructor for the North American Spine Society Spinal Injection Courses, where she teaches other physicians how to do injections. Dr. Melfi is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Pain Medicine, and Integrative Holistic Medicine. To broaden her Integrative Medicine practice, Dr. Melfi completed the Pain Management Pathway of the Helms Medical Acupuncture Course and is also certified in medical acupuncture. Dr. Melfi returned to her hometown of Syracuse in 2004 and is the founder of Regenerative Spine & Musculoskeletal Medicine. She was the first fellowship trained Interventional Physiatrist in the Syracuse area, and was the first spine and musculoskeletal specialist to become board certified in Integrative Medicine in Syracuse. Dr. Melfi enjoys spending time with family and her pets, gardening, hiking, wildlife safaris and adventure travel.
