The crowd fell silent as the final steel beam was lifted high into the air.
Then, a brilliant flash of lightning lit the sky, followed by a resounding clap of thunder just as the crew set the beam into place.
To many gathered there, it was a powerful reminder that our ancestors were with us, witnessing this important moment alongside our community.
Following a few words from Tribal Council Member Annette Bryan and Executive Director David Tonemah, construction crew members, PTHA employees, patients, and visitors braved the rain to watch the final beam of the office building expansion lifted and set into place. The beam carries with it signatures and messages of hope for the future, written by PTHA employees, patients, and visitors the day before.
This expansion represents our continued commitment to our patients and community as we celebrate 50 Years of Care and look ahead to the next 50 years and beyond. We honor the generations who helped build PTHA and remain dedicated to creating a place where future generations can continue to receive quality, culturally appropriate care.
