SHARP, knife-like pain shoots into my right pelvis & a high pitched scream erupts…..sitting down, getting up from lying in my bed, rolling in bed.
Sitting on the toilet with sharp shooting pain up my butt. Wow! “This is what some of my clients have experienced…..” I did not have pain all the time (like many folks I have & do work with) just with these transition movements & sitting. If I stood, I was pretty much ok but that got tiring. Then worst was dropping something on the floor & not being able to pick it up….bending or squatting was excruciating thus not doable.
Now mind you, I am a PT for over 25 years, and luckily have not had any major physical injuries. This is in no way a sympathy post…. This is the exact opposite. It is a true reality check to knowing what my clients, friends & family go through with acute & chronic pain that impair their ability to live their lives fully. Hats 🎩 off to my past, present & future clients, family & friends….
I am 80-90% better in just 2 weeks. So, treating & addressing an “acute” injury (defined as an injury sustained in last 4-6 weeks or less) is highly recommended. It just responds quicker than a “chronic” issue we have had for years. That is what I learned in school & clinical practice but now I have had the personal experience.
After the craniosacral work I received in my course last week, the amazing bodyworkers that worked on me at my course, the PT work I received from Kathie Fedele, an amazing manual PT in Towson & my awesome chiropractor, Dr. Robert Moses of Capitol Chiropractic & Wellness in Rockville & the work I have done on myself…… It takes a Village & a multi-faceted approach, my friends!
Friends & clients past, present & future, We don’t have to live with pain/dysfunction & the sooner We address the issues, the sooner We can get back to living a Life beyond our wildest dreams or at least better….. Progress not Perfection. All my Love ❤️ & Light!! 🙏🙌💃💥🫶🎶🪬🦋🧜🏼♀️☀️🌈🍁🏖️🐦🔥💪
